Great room size and well appointed shower, good bed size. Close to bars and eateries.
Friendly staff, recommend if staying in Barcelona! The pool and spa has character and we spent a relaxing in the pool in the afternoon to cool ourselves before going out....

Newish and stylish hotel. I like the location and the premium size room was spacious but being at the front of the hotel meant noise from the street because the very big windows are not double glazed. The breakfast was better than average for a Barcelona hotel. The big problem was the unreliable internet which was useless and despite my complaints was never fixed. I have been in this hotel several times, and every time get worse, this time I couldnt shower for 2 days due the shower not functioning and having extremely boiling water, I reported at arrival, never got solved until day 3, there was not empathy or solution from the front desk staff, rude and uncaring, their reply was: we are fully booked so we cant do anything. The Axel TWO Hotel is located in the San Antoni district between Eixample and Barcelona center on a side street off Gran Via. The airport bus (Aero-Bus, 5 min), bus (Gran Via / Viladomat, 10 min) and subway (Rocafort, 1 min) stations can be reached quickly on foot. My boyfriend and I have been in this hotel about 5 or 6 times. As hotel is lovely. Great location, good rooms, nice rooftop with a pool etc.
The big downside is the admin
While you see that you will be charge 2 days prior arrival they preauthorise your card whenever they feel like it without prior notice. Which cause issues as you are not expecting this on a random day.
They are too worried about scams at their side...
