This lagoon-side hotel sits on Mauritius’ stunning east coast. It brings a top-notch spa and round-the-world dining options to the table, as well as extra luxuries like a rum bar, and its own blend of coffee.
This hotel’s postcode puts it smack bang in the middle of the Belle Mare resort, on one of the longest stretches of beach in Mauritius. Its tropical gardens sit alongside a ribbon of talc-soft, white sand.
The Lux Belle Mare has a beach house vibe about it, with thatched-roofed buildings sprinkled through the grounds. Interior design queen, Kelly Hoppen, has taken the reins with the décor of the suites – they’re kitted out in neutral tones with splashes of colour. Plus, you can treat yourself to one with sea views and a hot tub.

More than disappointed
Having enjoyed Lux Maldives, and after reading the excellent reviews on this site, we are more than disappointed after a couple of days into our stay. Staff seem disinterested, service is less than poor, food choice is limited, swimming pool is actually a padling pool, and beds on the beach are great if you want to get intimate with strangers. On the positive side, the two tennis courts are probably the best we have experienced (but of course there were no cups for the water dispenser and no staff to supply) Having traveled extensively and experienced numerous 4/5* hotels in many areas of the world, this is probably the worst. Unfortunately the experience reviewed by others of this hotel recently on this site is completely alien to our experience.More
Stifano the hero/ wonderful resort
Stifano A hero man Am witting this review as I am currently staying at the lux hotel. The story that I witness today could not stop me from writing this review. I would like to thank Stifano from the boat house. Today we were at the snorkeling spot and one of the group he jump to the water to snorkel but he was not able to swim. In the first time of my life I see someone could die. Thankfully, Stifano, boat driver, with no time he jumped to the water and rescued the man. Unfortunately, his Wallet that include money and license paper fell in to the water. Even he could see his wallet floating on the water 15 m from the boat , he didn’t try to get it, because he felt responsible of the boat and group and he wouldn’t leave the boat. This made me rise my hat to him for his heroic act and his professionalism. This story is only headline of my review to the hotel. Now I am staying in the hotel with my wife and little 5 month boy. And I am enjoying the hotel so much. Could anyone Imagine this with 5 month boy !!! Yes it is true Here, in the hotel they take care for very small detail but it makes big different. I will go with each detail - rooms are specious and I believe all rooms have nice view as the hotel design is excellent. - without asking they provided us with prayer mat and add water flash in the bathroom. - the stuff are very friendly and helpful , I stayed once in the Maldives with 5 star hotel and I could rate this hotel one of the best places in the world. - all the water activities are free in the hotel unfortunately, I did know This only today. - they have baby sitters services which gives me and my wife some space to enjoy the place and some of the activities. - even that they have one swimming pool but who need it as long you can swim with most beautiful beach in the world. Water is great and the beach is clean. - concierge are very helpful and lovely, here I want to thank Niha as she was the first who welcomes us at the hotel. And I knew from her welcoming and smile that I came to the right place. Also , Gope helped us a lot for all our restaurants bookings and transport. - I am Starbucks lover and I can not have day without the its coffee. Here they have lux coffee shop which it can go head to head with star bucks . Finally, totally I would recommend this hotel. More

Perfect Wedding and week
The Lux is nothing short of perfect. The beach is amazing and so quiet you can always get a sun lounger. All the staff are really friendly and cannot do enough for you. The food is excellent and lots of vegetarian options which was lovely! We had our wedding here and it was organised perfectly from start to finish. We definitely recommend this as a venue it’s so beautiful and picturesque and there is really nothing to do but relax and let the staff take care of you. We had only one complaint with our room as we paid extra for a romantic junior suite (definitely worth it) so that it was private and romantic but the first 4 days they did their yoga literally right outside our ground floor terrace! Couldn’t even walk out from the terrace as we couldn’t get past! Very inconsiderate and unromantic especially as they did this on our wedding day! However, as soon as we mentioned it during a feedback questionnaire from the staff the yoga was moved so a prompt response to the problem! Cafe lux and all the staff were exceptional and by far the best coffee in th world! We only wish we had brought more back! Jennifer the wedding planner was very very helpful and made sure our day was perfect! All the staff went out of their way to learn our names and make sure we felt special which was lovely! The food at the rolls Royce bar was amazing!!! And the ICI was excellent too! Overall We really couldn’t complain the Lux was perfect for our wedding and we will be back! Perfect and a shame we had to leave, next time we will go for longer! Definitely go all inclusive you will regret it if you don’t! More
Amazing place and staff
Originally booked lux grand gaube but renovation work being carried out so given a choice of hotels to move to we chose belle mare. Will keep it fairly short. We stayed all inclusive in lowest grade room and it was one of the very best places we have stayed. We have done sandals holidays and loved them and were hoping lux belle mare would live up to the standards.THEY DID. Food amazing loads of choice in buffet and really well presented . We struggled to get restaurant reservations for 1st couple of days but as said buffet restaurant was lovely. WE LOVED THIS HOLIDAY. Special mention to a couple of the staff ( All were amazingly friendly ) BHAWOO / VIRAJ making us some memorable cocktails did an excellent job. Staff in the a la carte restaurants very professional and friendly . Another mention to one of the beach vendors all very friendly if you are looking for hand made pressies bracelet then ask for FERNANDO Lovely guy . We will hopefully return one day .We like to try new places but whatever we will always remember are holiday in mauritius for the friendliness of the people and Luxery hotel .More
Laid back luxury
From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, the service from ALL staff is exceptional. They are all so friendly and professional and go out of their way to make you feel very welcome. The hotel is luxurious but has a very laid back vibe, it isn't stuffy or pretentious. There are lots of different restaurants to eat in from a very cool fast food truck to a Michelin star Indian restaurant but all of them offer exceptional food and service. My only word of advice is that it is very much a family hotel and as a couple, we were very surprised to see so many children of all ages there. The hotel does try to cater for all by having a couples only breakfast in the K Bar and by sectioning off a small area for couples only by the pool to lounge (but the babies and children are able to play and swim in the pool near this area so it isn't particularly quiet). They also had a small couples area in the buffet restaurant. We didn't actually mind having all the children around but I know that it bothered a number of other guests so something to be aware of! We had a fabulous week and would definitely return again! Tip: if you are planning to mainly eat at the restaurant I would recommend going all inclusive as the food and drink is very pricey! We were all inclusive and everything is free apart from the Indian restaurant. Here you get a 30% discount off the food but the drinks are free if you order something from the wide selection included. More
