I booked a stay at the Ambassador through a major OTA just to test how transparent their pricing really was. At no point during the booking process was there any mention of an additional $150 Guest Experience Package fee. When I arrived, the hotel refused to honor the OTA rate unless I paid this undisclosed charge.

I booked a room from Sunday to Wednesday through super and once I arrived they said it's an additional $164 per night resort fee. On top of the booking price and the $125 security deposit. I literally waited 11 hours in the lobby for a room before the booking site finally said they weren't covering the unadvertised mark-up. The Omni it most certainly is not....

This historic Chicago Goldcoast gem is in one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago and close to everything you want to do in a short walk The rooms are comfortable, clean, and the charming older hotel has been renovated. The staff is amazing. Friendly and attentive to your needs and they go above and beyond. Seriously will be back and cant wait to recommend the ambassador to my friends....

Additional fee of $146 per night -- FYI

FYI: There is an additional fee that is often not specifically stated. It's referred to a resort fee. It might also be called a room fee. On 11/82025, that fee is $146 per night per room. So, if you booked on a site like Super.com and thought you were getting a room for $90 a night, you will actually pay $236 per night. There are many great options for less money than that.

Stung at check in on hidden fees

Stung on a huge resort fee when we checked in even though we paid online.
We didn't see anything about a fee and we read all the fine print.
I wish I saw all the other reviews before booking here.
The fee was exorbitant and ruined our impression of the hotel and Chicago.
I hope someone hires a good lawyer and gets a class action suit....
