We booked this hotel via 3rd party site and paid for the lodging. Upon checking in, the hotel charged us a resort fee of $146, they wouldnt let us check in without paying it and charged us even though it was past dinner time, we didnt need parking and had breakfast plans the next morning so we didnt need the amenities. When in Chicago, and thats several times a year, I stay in close proximity to The Ambassador. The current owners are taking great strides to get the experience of the hotel bar and restaurant to historic levels. The drinks are good, the food is good, and the live entertainment is good. We bought a special deal on Priceline. The Priceline listing referenced "incidental expenses". When we arrived at the hotel to check in, we discovered that "incidental expenses" includes a MANDATORY $147 PER NIGHT "resort fee" for meals and amenities we didn't want and couldn't afford to pay for. Prepaid through Priceline. When we got there to check in we were forced to pay for the all inclusive package. Complete SCAM!! $146/DAY!! We have been to this hotel several times in the past and NEVER encountered this!! We will NEVER go back!! Breakfast is garbage and they value it at $70. What a joke!!
