GF Victoria

Visited GF Victoria 16th September - 23rd September, clearly very challenging time for the business due to COVID19 however the staff were fantastic and made sure we still had a great holiday. We felt very safe in all areas of the hotel as the cleaning, hand sanitising and enforcement of masks and distancing was always a priority. Would have no hesitation in returning next year.

We were originally booked to stay in GF Gran Costa as we stayed there last year and loved it but due to renovations we were moved to GF Victoria. We were notified of this back in July and the process was really easy and we had no issues, the staff were very helpful. The hotel is huge, we didn’t see all of it whilst we were there for a week. It was very clean and there was hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere which made us feel comfortable. The staff here are so welcoming and friendly, and they work so hard to keep the hotel up to its standards which are high. The manager who checked us in , can’t remember her name, was so friendly and helpful. She explained the new booking procedures for the restaurants, activities and spa. There is a link you can book through on your phone and it was very easy. The room layout was really good, very spacious. We travelled with my sister and her partner and they put us in rooms next to each other without us having to ask. Unfortunately we did encounter a cockroach problem in our room. I notified reception and they sent someone straight up to spray the room. Later that night when we got back after dinner there was another cockroach in the living area, again i notifed reception and they sent someone straight up. We explained to the staff member we wanted to move rooms as we were not comfortable staying there, so she rang down to reception for us and they arranged for us to move to another room, they told us not to worry about moving our cases etc as it was late. We moved to the other room and there was no sign of any cockroaches in there. The next morning the manager who checked us in moved us to a better room which was closer to my sister and they put a bottle of cava in there for all the messing about. We never saw another cockroach after that, so please don’t let this put you off. We were really pleased with how the staff handled this situation and how good the communication was between the staff. The pool loungers were sanitised every morning and the floors throughly cleaned, i did notice the pool floor and walls were abit green, i think this is because they are like stone so it must be harder to keep clean. The pool toilets were absolutely spotless. We could get chips to eat around the pool , they came wrapped in a paper cone with plenty of salt, pepper, vinegar and sauce sachets but they were €6 which i thought was expensive. The skybar was really nice, the cocktails were amazing! The infinity pool was also really nice. We booked bed and breakfast so had breakfast at the buffet restaurant each morning, the restaurant was really clean, plenty of food to choose from. On our last day, my boyfriend was walking back through the hotel after going out and the manager came over to him and said we could keep our room until 6pm as we had a late flight, we were so happy with this as it made the whole check out experience so much easier and it meant we weren’t just waiting around the hotel until it was time for us to leave. We had a lovely stay , but we did prefer GF Gran Costa and would stay there again in future.
