    I was lucky enough to spend a week in this hotel before the lockdown. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. The whole hotel was very clean. They provided a kettle and cups but no water, teabags, coffee or milk and sugar! The hotel is situated between the Lido and the town, on the main road, and it was a pleasant walk to town. If you don’t want to walk there are plenty of buses passing the door. I would be happy to go back to this hotel.

    We had booked a two week holiday at this hotel but sadly it was cut short because of the coronavirus outbreak. For the time we spent at the hotel we had a lovely time, the staff all were so warm and helpful. The suite was a great size but the only thing I would prefer would be a walk in shower instead of over the bath one. The food was limited but that was only because there were hardly any guests as no more flights were being allowed in, even taking this into consederation there was always sufficient and there was a decent selection and well cooked. We have been to Madeira a number of times but this was the first time at the Girasoll Hotel and we hope to go back in October for our anniversary. Definately recommend this hotel.

    This hotel was extremely helpful when our easyJet flight was cancelled, contacting our taxi to change the date, and allowing us to stay an extra day at a fair cost,all the staff and owner were sympathetic to the situation, the room was excellent with a good view of the sea, the breakfast was good.

    Arrived home on Monday after a lovely week at Hotel Girassol. The room was a great size with a separate seating area and being on the 11th floor we had fabulous views. We found the hotel quiet - which suited us-and in a good location with shops,bus stops, bars and restaurants nearby. The staff in the hotel could not have been nicer. Many thanks for making us feel so welcome.

    Just arrived home from Madeira ...booked as a last minute as original trip to Far East was cancelled Needn’t have worried ...the hotel was lovely .... looked just as it did in all the photos The suite room was ideal Spotlessly cleaned every day Breakfast was plentiful and fresh Lotsa fruit and yogurts as well as all traditional/ continental foods All the staff were very pleasant and tentative Ideal location Main bus route Many bars and restaurants nearby Felt safe as a solo traveller
