Lovely small hotel in great location

Perfectly located hotel with lovely breakfast that you can enjoy looking over the lake. The rooms are basic but functional and cleaning staff keep the whole place spotless. The reception and bar staff/waiters are all lovely and the food in the evenings is tasty and good value...

Too pushy for tips

We sat outside overlooking the lake. It was really very enjoyable waiting for the sunset.
We enjoyed 2 drinks each - wine and gin and tonic. We were very surprised at the pushy waiter asking for tips. We like to leave a tip but not to be told how much. We left a tip but will not return. We witnessed same waiter intimidating a young couple to leave the tip.

This is a lovely little hotel, it is very basic but it is exceptionally clean.
The restaurant on we were in is quite small but never intended to stay in other than to sleep in. They have a fair sized bathroom with walk in shower, big mirror in both bathroom and bedroom area. They do have a hair dryer but its not powerful. The beds were comfortable and cleaners always tidied and cleaned the room.

I think I would describe this hotel as basic, quaint and comfortable. Quaint as in its rooms and safes are locked with an actual key, which is unusual in my experience. Basic as in the rooms are plainly decorated, however, there are essentials like a very large mirror in the room over the 'dressing table', and an even larger one in the bathroom. Super friendly hotel, service in all areas second to none.

The service at this hotel is second to none. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The receptionists and the night porter are wonderful and the waiters are without exception the friendliest bunch you could wish to meet.
