A stunning hotel steeped in amazing history, with décor that is both beautiful and perfectly suited to the story of the building.
We enjoyed breakfast during our stay and it was absolutely faultless every element was fresh, well prepared, and thoroughly enjoyable.

COLD unfriendly reception

Clean linen, clean room, TV not SMART, towels paper thin, quiet enough, 10 minutes walk to town at a regular pace. The receptionist (seemed to be the boss) was an unfriendly, sour faced, cold harridan. I felt sorry for the junior staff at her mercy...

Things we liked:
- The hotel looks gorgeous.
- The breakfast has a lot of options, including vegan ones. As the breakfast room is quite small, it can get quite crowded. We always found a table, though.

- It's located at least 15-25 minutes walk from the city centre, depending on where you are going. The hotel is definitely not for people who are not able to walk long distances. It's...

Creepy feel

Its a little creepy to tell you the truth. It had a Shining vibe to it. The room was average. When we were getting ready to leave a loud announcement came over a speaker above the door saying that the problem had been fixed go back to work. Not sure what the problem was though. Freaked us out. Breakfast buffet was good....

A Mixed Experience at a Contemporary Hotel

The hotel has a modern and cosy feel and is very clean. The rooms are comfortable, full of character, and well-maintained. However, we found the location challenging as we were traveling with two elderly parents and it was quite a distance from the city centre (30 minute walk). That said, we used Bolt taxis which were convenient and a great price!
