Elysium Resort & Spa

We stayed here for our honeymoon. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The housekeeping and concierge staff were great. We thought Eilias was a great barman within the hotel and cocktails were amazing. Very knowledgable about gin. One of the nights was really bad with a thunder and lightning storm so a rock and roll band played in doors -they were great. They played requests and the atmosphere was great. The buffet evening meal was terrible, not much left when we turned up and they wanted to charge €65 pp plus drinks - this was crazy. We left and went to a local taverna for some proper local greek food. To summarise the room service of breakfast was amazing, the loungers on the beach were so comfy and the staff were great. Enjoy the local Greek cusine and sample some of the local family run tavernas.

Initially not impressed that my room request had not been met (high floor close to main building) but once settled in and seeing the size of the place room 2101 was infact very close to main building (when we found the shortcut) and gave us a fantastic pool and sea view, and worth noting not all the balconies are the same (more later) The room was a little basic and would say bathroom is a bit dated but however spotlessly clean. The bedding was a little snagged and so too my robe (apologies) as the balcony chairs were a bit worn. We arrived just in time for dinner so adjusting to the set up, menu options and layout tested our waiters patience somewhat and thankfully our paths didn't cross again. ALL the other staff were however so polite and friendly and Nikitas in particular more than looked after us. In the buffet a menu is offered each evening and you can choose for the main to be served to you and self serve starter and desert. This made a nice change as the crockery and presentation made dinner more special. The Noble weekly menu is available to look at which I thought very helpful in making a reservation decision and should also be an idea for the buffet too? Fresh closed at 4pm when we were there but we did enjoy a coupe of late lunches, which were excellent and 15e is credited from the half board allowance. The hotel and grounds are very well kept spacious and although full it never felt overly busy so no sunbed reserving. Our balcony gave us a great overall view, of how tirelessly the staff work to keep everything immaculate, but we did notice not all balconies are the same - if like me this could be an issue check - some are filled in, so higher you go you need to stand to see view, some are recessed and overlooked others glass and too not so private. Throughly enjoyed the evening entertainment on the beach, lovely seating area created a great setting and atmosphere, fab acts, the violinist was brilliant! No shops nearby and the one in the hotel was adequate but limited as so near to the end of season. Bus to Rhodes town was easy enough right outside the hotel. For the relaxing time we had the enjoyment of the hotel, view, food and great staff we would definitely return.
