Hotel Baia Lara

We went to Baia Lara (for the sixth time…) from 22nd April till 3rd May 2019 with our family and grandchildren; a group of twelve people. Why so many times? Because of many things. But mainly because of the welcome- and warm feeling this hotel gives you. Being around in Turkey for so many years in so many hotels our search has, at this moment, ended at the Baia. How did we experience our holiday with our daughters, their husbands and grandchildren (2, 2, 5 years of age) this time: to put a long story short … it was as we expected, everybody did have a great time! Everyone has come to his/her needs; the quality of food and drinks, the children pool and its entertainment, the beach/pier and its cabana’s, the evening entertainment at the Beach Bar, the spacious suroundings and for sure: the service of the whole Baia Lara team. From Yasemine and Elena from the Guest Relations to the waiters in the restaurants and bars (Hassan, Mehmet Uren, Huliya, Victoria, Yusuf). And of course Mehmet and Rambo of the Animation Team. At the cabana’s at the pier and at the beach, waiter Adem did really a great and service-minded job! Nothing to worry about,; just lay back and relax…. The hotel manages every year to make some improvements: this year the swim-up rooms were newly build in the place of the former White Bar; the Beach Bar area was clearly enlarged and the toilet group at the beach has been renovated. So the hotel does not rely on the past, but keeps looking for improvements. When we arrived on 22nd April we were dissapointed because of the closure of the pier, but it opened after just a few days. Also there were some issues about the several rooms we booked. But all this was solved in a professional and friendly way bij Yasemine (GR), Sezer (reception) and Mr. Duran. Thanks again for your time and effort! As I wrote, the White Bar has been replaced by several swim up rooms. We were given the opportunity to have an inside look at these rooms. They are not only brand new but of a high standard. They are luxuriously finished (especially the bathroom) with special attention for the furnish colours. If you want, you can jump from your bed in the swimming pool… The hotel is situated nearby the Antalya airport; by taxi it takes just 20 minutes. The hotel itself is a bit butterfly shaped which gives it a compact and modern impression. Outside the hotel you will find many tourist shops with the usual stuff. A visit to Antalya gives you more (and often cheaper) choice. The surroundings are beautiful and the gardenparts are very well kept. The hotel area is very spacious and you will never get an idea of being locked in where ever you are... Rooms are okay, expect a pragmatic room. Beds can feel a bit hard. Cleaning is sufficient, but surely not overdone.. Please go for a seaview room. It offers you the possiblity to overlook the magnifique hotel area! Food quality and -quantity has the same old standard as during our past stays and you will have plenty of choice. The main restaurant can be very busy and crowded at dinnertime, but is really an peaceful oasis at lunch time. You will find plenty of sunbeds at the swimmingpools, the beach and on the pier The pier was our favourite place to stay at daytime. There you will find a fridge filled with water, fruitjuice and beer, so you do not even have to walk to the Beach Bar. This bar is very spacious and also a very nice place to have a drink, relax and enjoy the seaview. In the afternoon (16.00h) and in the eveningtime (21.30h) the Beach Bar provides nice music entertainment: sometimes modern dance music (Neon Party and White Party, do not forget to join!), sometimes (70s-80s-90s) guitar music; everybody will find his needs here. In addition: extra activities as Cocktailparty, Orange Party are held nearby this same bar. For the (little) children there is a seperate area where they (and their parents) can swim and play. The animation team at the children area is accessible and dedicated to give the children a great time with different games and activities. Do not forget the mini disco. Never a dull moment! We did not visit the shows at the showarena at the front of the hotel (former amphitheatre). It should be opened by now. Don’t forget to book one of the theme restaurants; they are are situated near the beach and provide you with a nice seaview. These restaurants give special attention to the food,drinks and to the guests. You can eat at several places, have a drink at several places, whatever and whenever you want. Of course there are some things which could be given a thought (for instance renovating the bathrooms, really working airconditioning in the rooms) but these aspects in no way influenced our experience during our sixth holiday in this hotel: excellent again!! Will we come back? Yes, for sure, see you in October, hopefully in good health!

We were actually shunted here from liberty lara who claimed they were overbooked and shifted us to this hotel. We were given family rooms (like we had booked in liberty lara). The rooms were tiny and quite disappointing. The air conditioning wasn't working. After repeated calls they told us they could give us fresh air nor cold air. Whatever that means. Eventually they gave us fans. Buffet was so-so. nothing special.
