The Riu hotel is on the plaza de España, a few meters from the metro station, easily accessible from the airport and main locations.
The hotel is modern and the (deluxe) room was big, quiet and convenient.
Breakfast was better than in most similar hotels.
Although it's a big hotel, there are staff at every point, guessing what you need before you ask.

Nice and spacy room with exceptional views of Madrid city.
Hotel Lobby is amazing and the receptionists are so nice and professional.
The lobby bar is also fantastic where we spent almost half day there for drinks and watched the streets in a rainy day of Madrid.
The bar staff named Yoseff (I may not type it correctly) who was so nice and helpful (my thanks to him).

Negatives: no coffee maker, no washcloths available, no offered help with luggage, irritating elevator system, room not always cleaned daily, no food room service
Positives: location, clean, great roof top bar with reasonable food there...

An extra person joined us and while unable to add a bed or change room on the app, the front desk did set us up in a room with a sofa bed and minor extra cost. Access to the rooftop is always a great bonus and we make sure to use it to wind down with drinks and tapas. ...
