Maritim Antonine Hotel and Spa

The staff were simply rude. No basic manners, no greetings, no "please" or "thank you". Honestly I felt I was being dismissed as a nuisance everytime I approached the reception desk, from the minute I checked in until the minute I checked out. On check out they simply took the room key, entered something on the computer and walked away - he didn't even confirm I had checked out successfully! Let alone asking if I'd had a nice stay. Air con didn't work (just blew out hot hair regardless of setting) so had to sleep with the balcony door open, which of course meant being woken up around 6am every morning due to the construction work opposite the hotel. Disappointing stay. Definitely the lowest point of my trip to Malta.

Was just a base for our 7 day break was there from 4th march to 11th march Was on a holiday with travel department Malta and Gozo can’t fault it Was in room 548 bed and breakfast was good room for us did use the hotels buffet dinner and pizza restaurant every thing had was good, Wi-Fi was really good the best so far all staff were welcoming felt safe building work was going on across the road but there doing work all around the island the whole place was worth visiting.

Stayed here for 4 nights in March and, after I had booked, read reviews about all the construction that was going on across the street. I therefore emailed the hotel direct and asked if I could be moved to another roof on the other side (even offering to pay any difference) - when I get there, I find that apparently I've been moved to a superior room - yes, but even closer to the construction work (on the eighth floor so more or less right opposite it and right next to the crane scaffold!). The room was lovely, but you couldn't really sit outside - the construction workers arrived at 6.30 a.m. to start work and finished about 5.30 p.m. I stayed on half board, so had breakfast and dinner in the hotel. I have to say that I wasn't very impressed with the cooked breakfast - wasn't very hot - and the grills for toast were fairly useless (you got warm bread if you were lucky!) The dinners were also not that impressive (in my opinion and I know I'm fussy about what I eat) but not everyone wants their food marinated in this or covered in that - and what's with all the garlic?! All in all, I was lucky in that I left at the right time, before everything started shutting down, because there is no way I could have stayed there any longer than I did. Unfortunately, I would not go back there.
