Close to Times Square without the price tag

- Close to Times Square (1 block up and 1 block across)
- Convenience Store/Pizza Store around the corner
- elevators are small and very slow (in an "L" Shape)
- Guest Laundry down in the basement but not many of the machines were working (coin jams).
- They will sell you quarters for the washing machines at Reception
- There was one amazing Bus Boy (who ran up the street to get us a taxi) and then there was another ...

Beware of fees

This hotel charges amenities fees for basic services and will not allow you to opt out. I attempted to when I stayed, and even specifically declined that portion in writing on the agreement when I was at the front desk (which front desk staff allowed), but they still charged the fee. The hotel is located just a short walking distance to Time Square. It is a little dated and the elevators are often slow but the room was very clean with comfortable beds. The room had a microwave and mini-fridge. Free hot chocolate and coffee are available each morning and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We were very pleased overall....

Such a disappointment

The Belvedere used to my go to hotel in NYC. I would stay here on average of 6 times a year. Loved the location, staff and everything about it. I havent stayed there in 4 years as an immediate family member gets me an employee discount at another group of hotels do that is where I stay. This visit to NY I wasnt able to get all the nights I needed at the other hotel so we decided to go back to Belvedere. What a disa...

Poor front desk customer service

Location great however customer service at the front desk is terrible. Went with my family of 7. Front desk staff not accommodating at all to what we had already paid for and they gave us the run around the whole trip! Be warned, do not pay extra for a "view" or "upgrade' because you could end up on the 5th floor looking at a trashy beat up building like we did.
