    Hotel Beacon is an Upper West Side gem – Central Park is within walking distance, and the nearby subway station means you’re well connected to the rest of Manhattan.

    This hotel’s Upper West Side location puts cultural hotspots like the Lincoln Centre and the American Museum of Natural History within a 10-minute stroll. Continue a further five minutes and you’ll reach the Strawberry Fields entrance of Central Park. There are also two subway stations within five minutes’ walk.

    Rooms at Hotel Beacon are a cut above Manhattan standards when it comes to space and convenience. They’ve got kitchenettes, so it’s ideal for staying on budget. And luxury touches haven’t been forgotten – high-end bathroom miniatures, iPod docking stations and Keurig coffee machines make the in-room line-up.

    We have stayed at the Beacon a number of times and will not stay anywhere else in the city. It gets better each time we visit. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful and you'd be hard pressed to find bigger and better rooms or comfier beds for the price anywhere else in Manhattan. This truly is a home away from home.

    Everything was wonderful from check in to check out! Shame we had to leave New York and Hotel Beacon. The apartment was perfect for a family of three, helpful staff, very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect, handy to grocery store and all the sights of New York were very handy.

    The location is very convenient for us; close to an express stop, also to family. Our room had a full kitchenette which was very helpful. Free working WIFI, great staff. (I don't understand why there is a 200 character minimum for reviews..?

    The rooms are in need of some serious renovation. The mattress was old and uncomfortable. The shower water pressure was abysmal. The shower drain was clogged so there was always standing water. The sink faucet hot water flow was very low. The closet door wouldn't close. The doorman never smiled or said hello. This has unfortunately become a mediocre 2 star hotel.

    Spacious, clean, nice staff. The bar is lovely. The concierge was extremely amenable to the parking arrangements. there are many small restaurants and diners practically next door. I was nervous about the theater next door and potential noise, but no.
