Smells of weed everywhere

We were put up here by American Airlines when our flight was cancelled. The whole place including our bedroom stank of weed and the lifts were particularly disgusting. Our key card kept failing so had to keep returning to reception via the slow, smelly lifts and 2 days after leaving we found our credit card that had been held for extras was charged when we had ordered nothing and were on a airline agreed voucher book...

Downtown Value Over New Year

Moxy Downtown New York City proved to be excellent value for a New Years stay in Manhattan. Located in Lower Manhattan, it was more affordable than staying in Times Square while still being within walking distance of the Freedom Tower and the Brooklyn Bridge. A subway station just two minutes away made getting around the city quick and convenient.

Sneaky "Destination Charges"

Nice hotel... Good restaurant...good location, however what the *### is the "DESTINATION CHARGE". The hotel/Marriot tack this on to the bill. They then credit you some back in the restaurant for breakfast...if you use it. Please tell me the price of the room and the price of the restaurant. Include breakfast if you like. Don't hide your prices with various random "destination" or "resort" fees...

I liked this hotel. The front desk staff are friendly, especially the Ghanaian lady, whose name I've sadly forgotten, but she deserves a raise. An absolute pleasure and so helpful. She asked if we needed anything else after checkout, carefully took our luggage for storage and gave us tips on taking a picture of the receipt card in case we misplace it, so we can safely retrieve it when we return, just a gem.

Such a lovely hotel, staff very welcoming on arrival, very quick and easy check in. Rooms were clean, not overly big but no matter as only used for sleeping. Hotel was in a Great location with plenty of subways within walking distance.
Food served daily in the hotel was quite nice, also a bar available & games tables plus a very small basketball room. Atmosphere overall was really good.
