We spent five nights at hotel Klettur in and found it comfortable and well located. It is within easy walking distance - about 10-15 minutes from central Reykjavik. We had a superior room on the 6th floor which as very comfortable and reasonably sized for European hotels, a nice bathroom, closet, and safe. We even had a small balcony which was nice as indoor spaces get pretty hot in Iceland - all that thermal heat ...

This has to be one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed at. The staff at the front desk was very rude when we arrived & not helpful at all. Our room was what you would call very basic. The first thing I noticed was the bed which was 2 twin beds put together & a comforter on each side of the bed that looked like a sleeping bag. No top sheet on the bed or blanket. No thermostat to regulate temperature or fan in...

Stayed here 2 nights on organized tour.
I stayed in multiple hotels during my trip & this was my favorite one!
Positives:
-Bright, spacious, clean rooms.
-short work to city center, many restaurants (including a food hall) & stores nearby. It took me 15 minutes to walk to Hallgrimskirja
-Only hotel during my stay that had a mini fridge in room (that was a much welcomed surprise)
