Great hotel with clean, comfortable and totally quiet rooms. We got a discounted upgrade at the last minute and opened curtains to a view of Alcatraz which was awesome. Super friendly and helpful front desk staff. Happy hour wine and beer was a nice treat. Beautiful boutique hotel

This hotel was great! Front desk was nice and helpful. Its location is great with everything in walking distance. Dean, who works in Valet was especially helpful with our transportation. He is friendly and always has a smile on his face!
I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful boutique hotel!...

Worst Hotel Experience Ever in San Francisco

I used to love Kimpton Hotels - this place makes me question who in HR hired the staff here. First of all, this is NOT A 4-STAR HOTEL. No amenities, super basic rooms, not even a coffee aker or water in your room. Upon check in, when I complained about a $32 a night "resort fee" with absolutely no tangible benefits, the rude desk clerk threatened to cancel my reservation. We paid for a room with a Bayview and it had an amazing view of the parking lot! Totally false advertising. We chose this hotel because of that and then they argued with us and made it very difficult.
Bathrooms are also insane. No hooks, no magnifying mirrors, lights were out, zero places to put your stuff. Worst Kimpton Ive ever stayed at.

Dishonest staff and hidden charge

The front desk themselves told me I could leave my luggage in the room between stays I even confirmed twice.
When I came back, I was charged for an extra night.
The same staff avoided me and others blamed me, acting arrogant and dismissive.
Manager refunded only after I pushed hard no apology, no responsibility.
Felt like a deliberate scam targeting Asian travelers, disguised as a miscommunication.
