We had a great stay at RIu. The breakfast was incredible and regularly replenished. The hotel was clean and well presented. The roo. Was great, a little bit noisy at times but that's the outside traffic.
Could have done with 4 glasses in the room for water as there were 4 people there....

The positives - great location near to Fisherman's Wharf and pier 39, excellent pillows and friendly staff.
Negatives - ugly ugly building, the room was not comfortable (the bathroom was a cupboard), the a/c on the wall never worked so a kindly maintenance man got the body -sized fan unit to work. It was like sleeping next to an aircraft exhaust. I have never seen anything like that in America. The building was shab...

We stayed at the Hotel Riu Plaza San Francisco for a few nights in June and, overall, had a good stay.
One thing worth noting is that, at check-in, there were additional charges and holds applied to our credit card for city taxes and other fees.
