Villa Maria

Just returned from 14 nights at Villa Maria, and really enjoyed our stay. It is run by a wonderful family who work tirelessly to keep the grounds and rooms spotless and provide services and help during the day and night. Many thanks to Angela and the family. Our room was a nice size, with a fridge/freezer, kettle, hairdryer, a small cooker hob with two rings, plenty of cutlery etc, wardrobe and bedside units and a tv. The bathroom has all the usual and was also a decent size. It had a balcony with table and chairs and a good view over the pool are and views over Troulos, a very nice place to sit and enjoy a drink or some breakfast. The room was spotless and with plenty of towels. It was cleaned everyday to a high standard and towels changed every few days. The rate for aircon is 7e per day and the safe 6e per week, we needed aircon as some nights it was 28 degrees outside at 12 midnight. The facilities are excellent, the grounds are kept tidy and clean and landscaped with lots of plants, flowers and trees. The pool is a good size and again is kept clean and the water clear, and also has a toddlers pools for the little ones. There is a library where you can borrow books or swap. The pool area has lots of sun loungers and parasols and has a seating area next to it where you can get some shade or just sit away from the pool. The onsite shop/cafe/bar is really good serving hot/cold soft and alcoholic drinks, ice creams and snack food. The serve hot and cold food, chips (really good), toasties, sandwiches, omelettes etc all at really low prices. A large ice cold Mythos, glass of wine, huge plate of freshly cooked chips for 6e, really good value. The atmosphere at Villa Maria is nice and relaxed, family friendly, we went as a couple but other families where there and the owners really encourage that family vibe so its no problem if you take the kids, in fact the kids all had a lovely time. On leaving day the family have a area to leave cases and they provide a watchful eye over them. The location is perfect in Troulos, 5 mins walk to bus stop 18, 15mins walk to the beach, surrounded by great tavernas and the local shops for supplies. Just a note about wifi, there is wifi around the pool area, but it also reached our room that was on the top floor, so connectivity is available. I think that sums it up, we had a great time at Villa Maria and will definitely return when we stay in Troulos again. Thank you to Angela and the family, wishing you a great season.

I've been to skiathos 4 times and it was our first time staying in Maria and it won't be the last it's the cleanest place we have stayed in. It is also a lovely family run place we asked the lady where reception was and she said I'm reception. Our rooms where cleaned everyday and alovely private place with flowers all around us.

You will get a very warm welcome at this small family run hotel. Rooms are spotlessly clean, you have a nice balcony to relax on and a couple of cooking rings sufficient to cook an omelette or similar on. The grounds and pool are also immaculate and there is a very reasonably priced pool bar. Lots of very good tavernas close by and the beach is about 10 minutes walk away. Three supermarkets a couple of minutes away. Had an amazing stay and highly recommended for a quiet and relaxing holiday.
