Villa Rosa Apartments

Although pool area well kept and very clean the studio room was perhaps a C rating -with following problems an extra £42 had to be paid for a weeks air conditioning in the room, toilet seat falling off and plastic cistern splitting at the top, cooker wall socket broken and pulled away from wall when trying to remove plug, only one bedside table so one of us had to place water/tablets/book on floor, not a single chair in the room, nowhere to hang or put wet towels in bathroom nor room, no cooking utensils and knives and forks on the floor of a base cupboard along with spiders web, white washed walls were flaking off where there had been obvious damp in lower ares of walls. No response either from Tui rep nor the owner to a request for a chair in the room (for clothes or wet towel). The internal light was so dim that couldn't see clearly when it was switched on at night. I would not recommend the accomodation to anyone especially at 'A' grade prices! However the pool area and the pool itself was immaculate and the food in restaurant was excellent.

Recently stayed here for 2 weeks with 11 year old daughter and parents. Apartments very basic to say the least and the shower facility consists of a shower curtain you wrap around yourself and unfortunately our shower head sprayed in every direction. The kitchenette and cooking facilities couldn’t be smaller but the fridge was standard under-counter size. Pool is too small to swim in properly but adequate for kids to play in and for a quick dip to cool off. The sun beds were quite nice but very rickety and clearly in need of a make-over as one collapsed when my Dad sat on it one morning. The owner thanked us for telling him of the incident and after a while removed the collapsed carcass(could have been worse) ? We ate here first night and the food was pretty decent but felt slightly expensive and was proven to be so after eating at lots of other places locally. The staff/owners were pleasant but not all over you and it does have a family feeling. It was slightly disappointing that our room wasn’t dusted once in 2 weeks as the little bedside table gathered a nice layer of dust. AirCon was extra per night so we refrained but that left us at the mercy of the mozzies as you needed your windows open to dissipate the heat. Location wise your approx 10-15 mins from the bus stop and 20 mins from the beach but the track to the beach is not well made at all so the location of Villa Rosa is not as good as others. Within the complex all the apartments are located around the pool and adjacent to the pool is the bar and restaurant therefore in your room you will hear the noise of the bar, chatting, music and cutlery until past midnight every night but since in the main the guests aren’t too boisterous it isn’t that intrusive. I know this review may read quite negatively but overall we had a pleasant enjoyable stay, we paid budget price and the accommodation matched. We used the apartment as base camp to go out from most days. Our holiday was amazing - the resort was basic but adequate.
