I stayed at the Hotel Ca'dei Conti for one night after an East Mediterranean cruise. I bought a ticket for a small group tour of Venice City, a visit to Basilica San Marco and finishing with a gondola excursion. I was with my small grandson who was extremely excited about the gondola experience. I asked the person on the desk for a hint as how to get to the meeting point. Wonderful hotel with great location for an authentic Italian experience. Close to the main sites, but on a quiet canal-lined street.
We were located in one of the adjacent hotels, just round the corner in a square also on a canal as we had a family room. This was spacious, very quiet and air conditioned. Breakfast was good and all we needed. Would stay here again....

Not as advertised

A/C was broken. Iasked to have it repaired or be switched to a room with a/c working. I even offered to pay for a room upgrade. I was assured it would be fixed. It never was and the room never got below 26 degrees. It spent most of our trip well above 27. The hotel is in serious decline and needs some tlc. Could be a wonderful place....

Some of the reviews here seem to have an unreasonable expectation of what an inner city hotel in a medieval building in Venice will offer them. I was perfectly happy with four nights I had here recently. Certainly quaint and with helpful staff. Yes, no particular facilities and a fairly average breakfast. This room is NOTHING like the pictures. Incredibly small, uncomfortable bed, dingy and dated with peeling paint. It seems they have multiple hotels, where I checked in is not where I am staying, I'm down around the corner in another separate building so maybe the other building is better? But this one is awful. Would not recommend or stay here again. Also, my room is the closest to the entrance so the buzzing of peop...
