Disappointing
Travelled on 09/2024
Having read previous reviews my expectations were low and what we got was low. The lobby looked good but once we got out the lift on to our floor the look was not good.
Very old and shabby/tired looking. Our room was small and worse of all very dark.
We couldn't open the shutters as we were overlooked and had to keep the light on all the time. Fortunately we were not in the room much. Furniture looked like it...

Carlton hotel on the canal
Travelled on 09/2024
We were very concerned stopping at this hotel with the recent reviews however don't be put off.
Check in was easy, we stopped the top floor (4th floor) room 455, room was of decent size with 2 wardrobes for hanging plenty of clothes, very clean
All staff were pleasant & helped with all requests
The area where we stopped near the railway station was a lot quieter compared to rialto & Staint Marks square

The smallest rooms I have ever stayed in. If you are travelling as a couple, dont expect to open your suitcases. There is no room at all.
Service at the reception is useless. They ask you to leave your room key at reception when you go out. Then you need to wait in the longest hotel checkin line to get room access again....

They gave away my room
Travelled on 08/2024
We arrived midnight at the Venice Marco Polo airport after 12 hours of travel. I called the Carleton to ask for directions to the hotel - we had pre-paid the room. The receptionist asked for my reservation number and proceeded to tell me I had no reservation and the hotel had no availability. She asked if I had a confirmation email. I could not get internet at the airport, so could not provide it. I found anothe...
