Family trip to Italy for our daughter's graduation and my 50th. Amazing stays in Rome, Florence, Bellagio. Had booked a triple room at this location for the final stop in Venice. All was good until we started to go to the room with the porter. We crossed from one side of the hotel to another and noticed an immediate change in quality and decor. Then came the entrance to the room. Missing light cover and dirty laundry...

The bartender Michele and the bar of the hotel are a well kept secret in Venice.
My topsecret: So psssst!
Enjoy his fantastic cocktails and craftsmenship. A perfect gentle host.
He will provide you with excellent drinks & first class service in a beautiful environment.
I am very lucky to have met this gem of a person!
The hotel is one of the oldest in town, opened in 1308.

This is my second time staying at Cavalletto & Doge Orseolo, a charming, European-style hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the location is AMAZING. We took a private water taxi from the Santa Lucia train station to St. Mark Square. Then, we just walked across the piazza to our hotel. Very easy. It was our first visit to Venice and we stayed here on a friend's recommendation. I am so glad we did. Our room overlooked a canal and gondola station. It was clean, quiet, the bed was comfy and the bathroom had good water pressure and temperature. The hotel bar made our visit exceptional. One man, Michael, ran it all.
