Fabulous stay in the heart of Venice

The Hotel is located on the canal and is short distance walk to to Piazza San Marco with the Saint Mark's Basilica and Dodge Palace as well as small shops and many restaurants. The staff at the hotel are charming and extremely helpful especially the front desk that arranged a walking a boat tour for us. We recommend the hotel highly. C Whitehead Washington DC...

Just checked in Metropole Venice- although we were excited to visit Venice and this hotel unfortunately I believe that the outcome was very poor and really disappointing. Theoretically we booked the best standard - not suite - room in the hotel with lagoon view. The advertisement in the site of the hotel was showing a room with magnificent and unhindered view in the lagoon and monuments of the city. What was the r...

Beautiful hotel in an historic building. Staff very helpful. My fifth trip to Venice- wish I had discovered the Metropole sooner! Great location to walk or catch the ferries. Their own dock for water taxi service. Extensive buffet breakfast. And the bathrooms have heated floors- what luxury!...

Dark, dated, and cluttered

We stayed here for our anniversary. It is cluttered, dark, and smells like your grandmothers house with all of the old pieces. The pillows are flat, there is zero storage, and the head waiter was condescending and pretentious. Our room faced the Grand Canal and we were awoken all night and early in the morning to both the partiers or early morning deliveries....

We loved this hotel. It's right on the Grand Canal and just a few minutes walk from St. Mark's square. We booked a room with a view and loved it. It stated it came with a queen size bed, but it was a king size. The bed was so comfortable. We had a corner room and 3 large windows.
