I booked two rooms with the Royal. The first one they told me I had to cancel and redo since the confirmation link wouldn't allow me to continue on it. I was like fine so I redid a booking for a double room. I get to the property in the evening check in and go to my room with my spouse. Not sure how this room is a double not sure about a lot about this room. Let's start with the fact that it just smells weird. ...

This is not a 4 Star hotel dont be fooled its 2 Star at best!!!!
Our room was on the 5th floor a poky attic room the lift stopped at the 4th floor so the stairs it was when booked I requested twin beds when we got there the room was made up as a double we had to separate the beds ourselves and ask for extra blankets we booked through Thomas Cook rubbish once they have your Money they are not interested...

Great location right off the square. Our room was huge it had a bedroom, lounge, kitchenette and bathroom. A little wasted on us as we were only in it to sleep! Room was nice and clean.
Breakfast was a little chaotic as the room didnt seem big enough and everyone was tightly packed in but food was good and there were gluten free options available.

Rooms need renovation. Worst mattress we ever layed on. Walls need painting and patching. Rooms are small. Our bathroom had apparently had some renovation.
Staff was not very friendly.
Giving it a 2 only because breakfast was decent....

Hotel Royal San Maro was an excellent hotel in Venice Italy. It was close to all attraction. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Venice....
