What are Better Boys Trips?

Picture a lads’ holiday… bet one thing comes to mind, right? It’s giving the Maga strip, rounds of odds and tattoos you’ll probably regret. No shade to the pints, partying and poor decisions, sometimes they really can hit the spot,  but can we really say they’re at the top of every guy’s list for every trip? Probs not. So, why is there still so much pressure to go hard or go home?

Maybe you want to do a sunrise hike as well as sambuca shots, or just swap out DnB altogether for IDK, maybe a classy Degas exhibition. There’s no one perfect trip, but there is your perfect trip. So, next time you’re picking a lads’ holiday, why not get chatting to your mates about what you really want – we promise that asking the question will make it a Better Boys Trip.

Don’t wanna take our word for it? We challenged a group of lads to do just that, maybe you’ll recognise them ?

We’ve partnered with CALM, Everpress and a mega line up of creators to campaign for Better Boys Trips. Keep scrolling to find out more…

 A bit about our lads

You might recognise George Clarke and his mates from, oh, all over your socials maybe? When he’s not causing havoc in Prague with Isaac (AKA ItalianBach), Arthur Hill and Arthur TV, you can find him chatting sh*t on ‘The Useless Podcast’ with co-host Max Balegde, playing football with the ‘Sidemen’ and featuring on Netflix shows like ‘Inside’.

A bit more about CALM

CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) are the suicide prevention charity on a mission to help people end their misery, not their lives. CALM’s vision is that no one feels like suicide is their only option. But right now, too many people are struggling to see a way forward. So CALM are here to help anyone struggling with life – and provide everyone with the skills to help prevent suicide.

They provide life-saving services, information and advice to help anyone struggling – from a life saving helpline to a community spanning everything from a 5 aside team to a Friday night gaming club – to better support each other.

Better Boys Trips FAQs

For more advice on having a safer trip abroad, check the latest GOV.UK travel advice. It’s important to get the right travel insurance and stick with your mates while you’re away – share your locations, agree on meeting points, keep a copy of your hotel address on you, and look out for each other.

Yes. The UK FCDO advises you always get travel insurance before you go, covering medical emergencies, cancellations and even hospital stays – costs abroad can run into the thousands. You can add some easily with our partner, Allianz.

You can follow the FCDO ‘Stick With Your Mates’ advice by:

· Sharing your locations via a group chat to check everyone’s safe

· Agreeing on a set meeting point in case you lose each other

· Keeping your accommodation address handy in case your phone dies

· Heading home together after nights out

Drinking abroad is a bit different to in the UK – the alcohol quality can be worse, measurements can be larger, and the price is usually cheaper. So, you can get more drunk, quicker than you realise. Drink water between your alcoholic drinks to help pace you throughout the night and stay hydrated. And, never leave your drink unattended or accept drinks from strangers.

Remember that everyone’s alcohol tolerance is different, too. You can always skip a round or sub in a water to drink at your own pace.
