Best time to go to Runaway Bay
The sun shines on Jamaica all year and temperatures are pretty consistent. February is the coolest month, with temperatures averaging around 26°C, and it heats up in July and August, when the mercury can reach highs of 32°C. Rain-wise, May, June, October and November are traditionally the wettest months. Showers tend to come and go pretty quickly, though. Keep in mind that hurricane season runs from June to November, with August and September being the ‘peak’ months when storms are most likely to hit. Saying that, hurricanes are pretty rare.
Just so you know, from time to time, some hotel beaches in Jamaica are affected by an increased level of seaweed. This is known as Sargassum, which is a natural occurrence that’s influenced by weather patterns and sea currents. In some cases this can disrupt the use of beaches. Rest assured that if any of our hotels are affected by this issue, they will work hard to remove the seaweed as quickly as possible.
