    The Alay Hotel in Benalmadena's geared up for holidays outdoors, with two big pools and a beachside location.

    Days spent lounging by the pool come highly recommended here. The hotel has two outdoor pools and a third one shared by the neighbouring hotel, as well as a couple of sun terraces facing the sea. The choice of dining's between the main buffet spot and an à la carte restaurant*.

    The hotel’s just a few minutes' walk away from Benalmadena’s central beach and within easy reach of Puerto Marina's shops, bars and seafood restaurants. For night owls, the town's 24-hour clubbing square's close by as well, at a 10-minute walk away.

    I am writing this review as I feel the hotel needs recognition for the service they have provided! We booked for a short stay in April, direct with hotel and due to the pandemic it was cancelled. We re booked for end of July in hope we can go but hotel/flights cancelled again. The hotel have communicated with us the whole way through even though they are not open. They have offered us chance to re book, a voucher or a refund. What I would like to point out is our booking was originally non refundable, non changeable. Today we have received a voucher for our deposit to use again anytime in the next 12 months. Thank you Hotel Alay and we will definitely be staying with you when we can to support you. Stay safe!
    Impressions of this hotel are good but the details are very disappointing

    Came here for a long weekend break with my husband during March 2020. Don't get my comments wrong, we had a nice break in a pleasant location with great weather. It is just I do not feel the hotel is as good as I would expect from a four star hotel. There were good and bad points, GOOD: Nice location by marina Nice pools and outside areas Friendly(helpful?) staff Great views from the balcony Plenty of food at breakfast BAD: Air conditioning not turned on! It was 27 today but air conditioning not turned on until at least next month. There is lots of food but it's cold. Whatever they do to try and keep it warm does not work. No ventilation in bathrooms( see pictures). Poorly sealed bath with mould and terribly swollen doors FIre doors wedged open. Pretty sure even in Spain that's not acceptable. Light on the balcony stays on all night - room is never truly dark Staff are helpful but could not get our faulty light fixed within the 3 days we were here. Come to the area, even stay here but just know how it really is.
    4* - self rated? At least turn the a/c on if you have it ...

    Staff: helpful and friendly Rooms: clean and tidy- air conditioning only works when it’s turned on for the whole hotel. Apparently it’s not hot enough! Bathroom: Goodish. Shower only ribs off taps with a hand held type nozzle. Good pressure. Towels are SMALL, very SMALL! Bath towels are hand towel size. Swimming pools: clean but COLD. Breakfast: Good Selection BUT anything hot is warm at best. Plastic table Cloths and chairs ( like all good 4* restaurants)

    We have just returned from a lovely week at this hotel. The room catered well for my husband who is disabled, very big walk in shower and plenty of space for access in the main part of the room. Beds are very comfortable we had a great nights sleep. Hotel is very close to the Marina and the beautiful sandy beaches. Highly recommend this Hotel.

    We booked directly with the hotel maybe not a good thing they probably look after tour operators better We found it impossible to climb into the bath with the shower panel leaving a very small space to enter No drawers just a few shelves as the fridge and the safe are enclosed inside the wardrobe Plastic garden chairs and bright yellow or bright blue paper table cloths in the dining room give the place a works canteen look certainly not a 4 star hotel
