Hotel Riu Touareg

I would have rated it a Five if there were more toilets near the pool area and around the hotel also bad smell in room every time we flushed the toilet.Apart from that had a great time food choice was great staff very friendly and helpful.

We have just returned from an 11 night stay here at the Riu Touareg and I have to say it was arguably the best holiday we have been on! As a whole we couldn’t praise the hotel enough, it is clear to say that the staff work really hard day in day out and I couldn’t fault them. Rooms- One week before arriving we emailed the hotel to request a room in block 9 as we heard this was one of the newly refurbished blocks, when we checked in they acknowledged our request and we were given a room in block 9. When we arrived to the room we instantly discovered a leak which had flooded the floor so we rang reception straight away. They sorted the problem straight away and we were then moved to block 3 instead which we were told was also a newly refurbished block. We ended up being happier in block three as it was less of a walk to the centre of the hotel than block 9. Our room was lovely and spacious and cleaned daily. The only thing I could fault was the floors weren’t swept daily as when we walked round without footwear our feet were always a little dirty but this wasn’t a major issue! Grounds- Couldn’t fault the grounds! The main pool area was where we spent most of our time as there’s plenty of pools to choose from! The water is salt water so maybe not for everyone but this didn’t bother us. We ended up waking up at 7 for sun-beds but you could find one much later if you wasn’t fussy about where you wanted to go! Food/Restaurants- I was slightly apprehensive about the food after reading previous reviews about people having dodgy belly’s and getting bored of the selection, I wouldn’t listen to those reviews at all because the selection of food was brilliant! There was so much to choose from and every night there was at least one thing new to try! We were here for 11 nights and I still left not trying everything that was available! Our favorite restaurant was the Asian but if you are a fan on fish the Cape Verde restaurant is lovely too. Improvements- The only things we can think to improve this hotel would be if they had a couple of pool tables as part of the entertainment as these would be popular for both day and night! A bar on the beach would also be great for those wanting to spend the day on the beach! Overall we would definitely return in the future and a lot of the people we met said the same!

Myself and my boyfriend ( ages 24 & 26 ) stayed here for a week 20th June - 27th June and loved every second! ( Booked with TUI ) We booked this as we wanted a week of doing absolutely nothing but sunbathing, drinking and eating. It was exactly what we expected, a beautiful beach hotel in paradise. Yes when you arrive it's remote, but what do you expect? We went to Mexico a couple of years ago and stayed at a similar resort, but this a lot cheaper and a shorter flight too! I think the only big difference was the quality of drinks ( no top shelf ), but that's no worry. Our room looked over the infinity pool and beach - beautiful! The staff are fantastic and so is the food. We are not usual beachgoers but we went down every afternoon for a walk and paddle, the waves are incredible!! As for nightlife, we usually went down about 8/9pm ish, weren't too bothered about the entertainment but it did look good ( not cheesy like a lot of all inclusives ). We usually sat and had a few drinks, played cards. We did head to the Pacha club and Karaoke bar a couple of times, which were surprisingly good! I feel if we stayed for longer we would have definitely done an excursion or ventured out. But for a week of nothing, the Riu Touareg was the perfect place. Would we book again? Definitely.
