We have literally just checked out from a 4 night stay at Fortuna Boat Hotel. We stayed in room 234 which is one of the superior rooms with a large balcony overlooking the Danube, spectacular! The room itself is large and clean, room is a bit dated but for what you pay, you can't complain. Breakfast is ample but simple. It is about a 20/30 mins walk or more to the main attractions. Or a 10 mins walk to the transport...

What an amazing stay for a city break....I've never been a big city person so having a place that felt far removed but still central to all the hustle bustle to decompress after a busy day of walking and site seing was perfect for me....never have I been in a city so accommodating and easy to explore on local transport or walking........and you can tell how safe the city is by how common and comfortable women are jo...

What a shame - could be such a lovely boat Hotel.
First the Pros - good location and cleaning staff excellent
Now the Cons - The boat is so run down - rips in carpets especially on the very steep gangplank. Many areas off limits - it's like a building site. No bar or restaurant (although they are advertised) - breakfast room with cold sausage and beans every day. Toaster - only two of the four slices worked - coff...

If you fancy something quirky by the beautiful Danube, you'd do worse than book this charming Fortuna.
Location for all amenities not the best, but there is Gaby's and boat with bar/restaurant easy walking distance.
Public transport and other services appear to be further afield, but we're only talking 10 mins+ and you have to cross busy road.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Fortuna , yes it looks a little bit tired and shabby, but the boat is very clean, and my room was warm and comfortable.
I slept really well in the comfortable beds and felt very relaxed.
I took a travel kettle with me so I could have a cuppa in my room.
The bathroom is small but clean, the shower was hot with great water pressure, ensuring a good shower each day.
