Real Greek hospitality

Booked a two week stay here with Tui, last minute deal. Very happy with everything. We had a warm welcome from the effervescent owner and excellent service from her husband, twin sons and staff. Great location opposite the beach with good choice of tavernas and bars. Harbour is five minutes walk and the pretty Lemonakia beach ten minutes the other way. Rooms small and typically Greek with a little balcony to sit out. Comfortable though and cleaned every day except Sunday. Clean towels/,sheets every other day. Aircon, fridge and safe payable direct to the hotel. Small pool area, not really much space for sunbeds but you can use the place next door if you buy a drink. Lots of books to swap, saves luggage space. Nice continental breakfast included. A real bargain and recommend.

Hotel lambros is a nice, clean and cosy hotel. We had a family appartment at the back. The appartment was clean and kept clean frequently. Fresh towels 3 times a week and clean linnen 2 times a week. The appartment was big enough for our familiy of 4 adults. The shower was working but small and we truly hate a shower curtain. The appartment was outdated and had sufficiënt yet old furniture. The pool was small yet big enough for the hotel to accomodate. Sophia was easy approachable and friendly person. We were a bit surpirised by having to pay for the airconditioning separately. 7 euro’s a day we found quite a lot.
Not what we had in mind

We booked Lambros via Tui for a week’s holiday in May 2019. Our room could not have been more dissatisfying. The room was dirty from floor to roof, even the print on the wall was covered in stains. The lamp didn’t work, the towels were stained and TINY. The light switches were not to be touched without gloves. To ensure a lovely vacation, we switched to a more sanitary hotel. If your aim is to be drunk with friends, Lambros will probably work just fine. If you should like to enjoy your stay also in the room, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. And don’t get me wrong - I’m used to Greek hotels and their simplicity. This hotel was not just simple, it was dirty. The general atmosphere of the hotel was ok - a nice pool-area and breakfast terrace.

The Lambros is a nice little hotel - not luxurious by any means but perfectly functional and in a great location. My room was on the first floor at the side of the hotel. There was a nice little balcony from which I could see the sea, although the hotel was not on the beach. There was a road opposite with hotels, apartments and restaurants and the beach was in front of those properties. Breakfast was very basic - cereal, bread, cake, cold meat, jams and boiled eggs - but perfectly functional. There were plenty of places to have breakfast if so desired. The room itself was small but perfectly adequate just for me. One of the fist things I noticed was a list of prices - including aircon €42, safe €12 and fridge €17 - per week. I’ve usually had to pay for aircon and safe before but not for fridge. However as there were no self catering facilities it wasn’t an issue - I did without. As with many Greek bathrooms I did have a fight with the curtain, but in fairness you didn’t really need the curtain as the bathroom didn’t flood (as I found when I pulled the curtain rail down)! There was also a nice little swimming pool. There were only about 4 sun beds and you wouldn’t want to spend all day there, but it was nice just to have a dip in, as I did when I came back from a trip one day. As I previously mentioned the beach was a few minutes’ walk away. However, it was a pebbly beach. I didn’t go into the sea (as it was quite windy) but I understand entry into the sea was tricky. Some beds were free if you ate or drank at the restaurants there, others you had to pay for. I tended to go to a place called “Hello Hello” where you had to pay for the beds but it was less busy. And they did a nice range of food at lunchtime. There were loads of places to eat in Kokkari. Along the beach road - I ate at a nice family run hotel called the “Samia” where I had a very nice pasticcio pie - and plenty of other places. A short walk - about 15 mins or so - turning right out of the hotel took you to the lovely harbour where again there were loads of places to eat and lots of bars to have a cocktail or a coffee. Restaurants worth a mention are “Apollon”, “Stathis”, “Poseidon” and “Kokoras”. I went on a couple of trips while I was there - one an island tour round Samos, the other a trip to the island of Patmos - both worthwhile. All in all a nice hotel and a lovely holiday.

the room we had was an annex on the other side of the road. It was small, the shower was terrible falling off the wall. The cockroaches in the night were in the bathroom every night.the breakfast was an egg, one cheese and one meat.
