Blue View

Just returned from a 2 week stay in the Blue View. We booked with Tui and therefore had sea view rooms these are not the rooms you see on Blue views Facebook page. They are more plainly decorated simple furniture and basic with a smart bathroom all very clean and comfortable with great sea views. Staff are all incredibly polite and friendly it was impossible to walk past anyone without them saying good morning, hello etc and always when they serve you you get a your welcome. And they all look smart in their simple but effective white polo shirts. Location is excellent 10 mins walk to centre of resort and very quiet and peaceful. Beach front is also well kept with plenty of sun beds and the beach boy serving you drinks on your bed was also very polite and kept area clean. Highly recommend walking to trypiti beach and Metallia beach for alternatives both less than 30 mins walk from hotel. Limenaria itself is typical Greek resort ie loads of hotels along the front and Tavernas it’s a bit scruffy around the edges and not particularly attractive although the views are very pretty. You won’t find discos or karaoke bars here thankfully. Thassos itself is very pretty with loads of lovely beaches to explore indeed a short walk from the hotel and you would find yourself almost alone on the beach. The only village that I thought had any charm is the mountain village of Panagia this is well worth a visit. Do not book any tours with Tui they are hugely overpriced the boat trip for instance from Limenaria harbour I booked direct for €25 each you get a light breakfast and lunch with 4 stops for swimming in beautiful Cristal clear waters. Tui wanted €44 each if booked online with them. Boat is the Axion esti booked online using PayPal. Also done 2 tours with Real Holidays of Thassos (google them) Both were excellent and we saw lots more of Thassos than we would have on our own and the meal in a Tavern was the best food we had in Thassos. Lastly we plumped for Blue view over Sunray next door and very glad we did, Im Sure The Sunray rooms are fine but from what we saw of the cramped pool and bar area it’s not in the same league as Blue View.

If you are contemplating booking this hotel for your stay in Thassos then I highly recommend it. From check in until our departure the facilities and staff were fabulous. It is in a great location if you like being on the outskirts of a village so that you can have peace and quiet with only a ten minute walk into the local village with many tavernas and places to eat and drink. however, it is not rowdy,full of wonderful local greek culture, a wonderful environment to while away a lazy few hours. The Hotel is impeccably clean, the cleaners were extremely thorough and it was a pleasure to come into our room and see how they had shaped our towels into swans, little extra touches that made you feel like they really cared about your comfort. The hotel beach area with sunbeds was kept very clean and tidy and they have staff who take your drink and food orders and bring to you. We went snorkelling at the beach also. There were always sunbeds available around the pool area and lots of space for guests to sit and relax. We had a fabulous holiday and I would definitely return.

What a beautiful place the Blue View hotel is. Ria, Andreas, the whole family (and Harry the dog) really know how to hotel. The rooms, restaurant and whole hotel was spotless, the team work tirelessly. Limeneria is brilliant and we will definitely going back. My only criticism of thr hotel would be that the restaurant food is al a carte all day and not simple - you can't just have a simple snack by the pool. That said, would I recommend this hotel? Absolutly.
