Sunrise Blue Magic Resort

I have just got back from my 5 night stay at this hotel. We checked into two rooms of three and we were all aged 19-23 and were considerably younger than the rest of the hotel. Maybe because of the season, there were many old people in the hotel who stared at us and told us to be quiet, shush or even barked at us which made us feel uncomfortable and unwanted. Note: This hotel is 40 minutes from sunny beach, a 30 minute walk from shops in Obzor and is located in the middle of nowhere; If you want a relaxing trip in a resort this is great but if you want to explore, you are far from any kind of activities. The two animation team members in charge of daytime activities were fun but we were not interested in zumba or dancing. There was a fine line between 'kids mini disco' and adults zumba; No activities for the younger adults. We did make use of the spa though which was good. We used the sauna and had facials and full body massages. We checked in at 2am and were given snack boxes which were a nice touch and filled a hole when we arrived (The hotel is an hour from varna airport). Maybe due to the fact we visited just late season, the pool bar was closed the entire time and there was no kind of daytime hot or cold food unless you want to buy some crisps or chocolate from the mini market in the complex. When I think of all inclusive I think of chips by the pool throughout the day or a selection of food to pick and grab. I asked for a red bull which I saw in the fridge by the bar and the bartender called his manager over (There was a large language barrier between the staff and us speaking English) and he explained you have to pay extra for red bull or lemon fanta etc... I don't know wether the staff were poor at English or just did not care about us. Their attitude maybe needed some consideration. All 6 of us work in the travel industry so appreciate how to speak to guests and some of the staff here did not show the same ideologies. Now for the buffet restaurant food.... What a shame! It was the same selection of wedges, chips, burnt pizza, meat, rice and salad everyday for both lunch and dinner. Unfortunately, almost all of it was cold too. It became almost a joke between me and my friends that we were living off potato wedges and mushroom pizza. The pudding selection was not even tasty and the ice creams were coloured different but were all vanilla. Just a little more effort on the food and the whole hotel experience would have improved as that is the main highlight of being all inclusive especially when there is not much else to think of around the hotel grounds. As a positive, the rooms were lovely and bright, clean, well decorated and comfy. We had the park view which was not as nice but in a few years I think this view will look just as nice. I noticed they were building another set of lifts nearer our room which will also be more useful our side of the hotel when they are finished. The pool area is extensive and clean. Issues with the wasps and the fact you can only collect a towel from a man who exchanges a towel card for a towel only twice a day wasn't the be all or end all of our experience. The beach is a 2 minute walk and has beautiful sand and water sport activities during the summer season. Overall, the hotel was around a 6/10. We had a great time due to the company we were in and rooms we were given. The food definitely needs to be improved, varied and warmed up more frequently. If I were to visit again, I think in time the place will be better as the staff will have settled in as I understand the hotel is newly opened. I would also visit in July/August time when there might be younger people around and more beach activities and a pool/snack bar. The only excursion we could do in this season was the jeep safari through the Thompson rep Georgi which got us out and helped our cabin fever! Were to start. The hotel looks great from the outside looks great on the inside. Our junior suite room was spacious big balcony but the view was very disappointing sea view was only visable if you stood up at one end of the large all around balcony. Complained but just a shrugging of shoulders and it has sea veiw comment. Would have made more of it but only there a week thankfully. Some sockets did not work in the room and one by the bed had a huge hole at the side of it from bad fitting not safe if you had young kids who might stick fingers in it. Pool area was great apart from all the bloody wasps never seen anything like all the other times ive been to obzor/sunny beach, suppose thats not the hotels fault neither was all the ignorant/arrogant germans. The food was the worst ive every experienced in all my travels. Cold or like warm same for lunch and dinner service. Not enough heat lamps on the food aircon blowing cold air down food. Bland tasteless bread was stale did start putting out fresh bread to cut yourself after complaints about it. Icecream was like soup again after complaints it did get better. But the cold food did not get any hotter after complaints to george the tui rep. Had to use microwave most days to heat it up. A few staff were very friendly but most look very grumpy and struggle to raise a smile. This one hotel i would never ever return to i will stick to the sol luna bay next door to this hotel much nicer place.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for a week which I can say was long enough, it was our 45th wedding anniversary , I had told the hotel but not even a mention,which I was very disappointed with, the first day we were told we could get food at the pool bar the food we were given was raw and cold, 2 days later the pool bar was closed with no explanation why, so consequently you had to go from the pool to the lobby bar for a drink, when we asked if the pool bar would be opened again we were told abruptly NO The food in the restaurant was cold and very repetitive everyday, we spoke to George the tui rep who was very helpful and said he would speak to the kitchen staff, never really changed anything, as for entertainment when we booked it said entertainment every night and because it is a distance from anywhere it would good, but no entertainment, playing jenga, and cards in the evening is not what I call entertainment. Some of the staff were friendly but one particular member of the bar staff very rude.room was good very clean but a tiny balcony which 2 people could hardly fit on.wasps were a real nuisance around the pool you couldn't relax at all, I was stung but when it was mentioned nobody cared,at the front of the building were 3 wasps nests but were told they were birds nests.this hotel has a lot to learn about being all inclusive, not impressed at all and very disappointed with our stay.and for a special anniversary feel very let down .
