Hotel Caravel

Our original hotel was cancelled due to Thomas Cook going in to liquidation. We found this place last minute. The hotel itself is lovely. The rooms are spotless and the beds are so comfortable. Both myself and my husband had the best sleep ever. We had a view over the pool and it was really quiet and relaxing there. There is a bit of a walk to the centre of town, which can be a bit hair raising at times. They do provide a minibus shuttle service to and from town but you have to pre-book your slot. On the Sunday evening they hired a bar singer called Anna Davide. What a lovely voice, thoroughly enjoyed her singing and she sang Amy Winehouse's Valerie for me. The only reason I have marked them down to 4 instead of 5 is because there is a charge for the tea tray, 4 euros per day. It is stated in the room literature but I think this should be included in the price. When you check out it is recorded as a Tax. This wouldn't put us off staying again though as we did sleep really well. Can't comment on breakfast as we kept missing this due to not getting up early enough.

Within walking distance of Sorrento's centre, Hotel Caravel is in St Agnello. While the walk is lovely, the hotel lays on a private courtesy bus for residents with regular shuttles between the centre and the hotel. We stayed summer 2019 and could not have been happier at the Caravel. Faultless and courteous customer service at all times. And quite possibly the best dining experience we've ever had at a hotel. Despite being half board, we expected to eat out a couple of times, but on seeing the menu (posted up each afternoon outside the restaurant doors), we decided that was not necessary. We will be back in 2020 and can't wait to order again the Caravel special homemade ice cream sundae :)
