Your luggage allowance will vary depending on what type of holiday you book with us.

Checked-in luggage
When flying with TUI, your checked-in luggage allowance varies between 15kg and 23kg depending on which holiday you book. You’ll be shown exactly what luggage allowance you get during the booking process.
Hand luggage
If you're flying with TUI, you can take 1 piece of hand luggage per person (excluding infants) weighing up to 10kg and with maximum dimensions of 55x40x20cm. Things like laptops, handbags and items bought at the airport must fit within your 1 piece of hand luggage. You must be able to lift your hand luggage into the overhead storage compartments yourself. You can bring a Trunki case as hand luggage, as long as it weighs no more than 10kg
Flights with other airlines
If you're flying with another airline, you'll find details of your hand luggage allowance on your e-ticket or confirmation email.
Flight only bookings
Hand luggage
If you’re just booking a TUI flight, you can carry 1 piece of hand luggage of up to 10kg for free. The maximum dimensions of your hand luggage can be 55x40x20cm and you must be able to lift your hand luggage into the overhead storage compartments yourself. Things like laptops, handbags and items bought at the airport must fit within your 1 piece of hand luggage.

You can book checked-in luggage for an extra charge whilst you’re booking, or through our Flight Extras website if you’ve already booked.
Booking your luggage allowance online is cheaper than paying at the airport.
Flights with other airlines
If you're flying with another airline, you'll find details of your hand luggage allowance on your e-ticket or confirmation email.
Premium Club
Upgrade to Premium Club on TUI flights and you’ll get a luggage allowance of 23kg as well as 7kg hand luggage. You can do this while you’re booking. If you've already booked, you can log in to our Manage My Booking website.
Infants
If you're flying with TUI, you can take a pushchair for infants under 2 years old, for free. And if your flight is part of a package holiday, under-2s will also have a check-in luggage allowance of 10kg. If you’re not flying with TUI, you’ll need to check with your airline. Most other airlines will also carry pushchairs free of charge, and you can usually take them to the boarding gate. Some airlines also offer extra hold luggage for under 2s - you'll find details on your e-ticket or confirmation email.
Adding extra luggage
Whether you’re booking a package holiday or a just a flight, you’ll get the option of upgrading from the standard luggage allowance with TUI. You can do this whilst you’re booking, or by using our flight extras website if you’ve already booked.
Pooling your luggage allowance
For TUI flights, you’re allowed to pool your luggage allowance with anyone else travelling on your booking. However, each bag can only weigh up to 23kg.
Larger items
Sports equipment
If you’re taking sports equipment with you, you’ll need to call us at least 2 months before you travel on 0203 451 2695 to pre-book it onto your flight. If you don’t pre-book, we may refuse to carry your equipment when you get to the airport.
Protecting your sports equipment: We recommend you insure your sports equipment for its replacement value and make sure it’s securely packed with zip compartments padlocked. If you’re taking a bicycle, we recommend you use a bicycle bag. Handlebars must be turned inwards, pedals removed, tyres deflated and the bicycle must be wrapped in plastic or cardboard.
Diving equipment: You’ll need to pay an extra charge to carry up to 15kg of diving equipment. However, if you can show a diving certificate at check-in, you’ll get an extra 5kg luggage allowance for free.
Musical instruments: If your instrument is larger than the maximum hand luggage dimensions, you’ll need to check it in for an extra charge. We recommend you mark the instrument as fragile and advise check-in staff to handle with care. See our Conditions of Carriage for full details.
If you're flying with an airline other than TUI, please contact us for more details.
Ski holidays
If you’re going on a ski flight, you can check-in up to 20kg of luggage and carry 1 piece of hand luggage up to 5kg. Or if you're staying in a Premium property, you can take up to 23kg hold luggage and 7kg hand luggage.
The maximum dimensions of any piece of hand luggage are 55x40x20cm and you must be able to lift your hand luggage into the overhead storage compartments yourself. Things like laptops, handbags and items bought at the airport must fit within your 1 piece of hand luggage.
Excess luggage
If you're flying with TUI and your luggage is heavier than your luggage allowance when you check in, you’ll need to pay an excess luggage charge. If you're not flying with TUI, you'll need to check with your airline.
Excess luggage charges
- Short haul flights: £13 or €17 per kilogram.
- Mid haul flights: £15 or €19 per kilogram.
- Long haul flights: £18 or $27 per kilogram.
Just so you know, charges may vary depending on the season you're travelling in. If you're not flying with TUI, you'll need to check with your airline on excess luggage charges.
