Beach-hop in Paphos
If you want to kick back in Paphos, head for the sandy Blue Flag beach. It's also got a decked area, in case you're not a sand fan. Coral Bay, just 10 minutes away, has a bigger stretch of sand. And 40 minutes further on are the Baths of Aphrodite in Polis, where the goddess of love herself is said to have taken a dip.
Munch on meze
Fancy dining with the locals? Book a table in the upper Ktima area and dig in to bite-sized meze plates. Saganaki — AKA fried haloumi, squid and taramasalata — are Cypriot specials. And the doughnuts in honey offer a sweet finish.
Peer at Paphos Castle
Paphos Castle is all that’s left of the town’s Medieval fort. It only costs a couple of euros to get in. Climb up to the roof for widescreen views over Paphos marina — just don’t forget your camera.
