Holidays to Achladies Bay are straight out of a postcard, with terracotta-roofed houses lining the golden shore and sparkling sea.

A shore bet

Tucked in to the south-east coast of Greece's island of Skiathos, Achladies Bay gives the popular western shores of Kolios and Platanias a run for their money. It's a sleepy spot with lots of traditional charm and natural beauty, just a 10-minute drive down the coast from Skiathos Town.

Talk of the town

Island capital Skiathos Town's only a 10-minute drive from Achladies Bay, so it makes an easy daytrip. You'll find a charming old quarter with cobbled streets as well as a Venetian citadel. The newer part of town has super-sized yachts, designer shops, gourmet restaurants and buzzing nightclubs for after-hours fun.

Come sail away

It'd be almost criminal not to spend a day at sea while staying on a Greek island. Catch a water taxi to the capital, or go snorkelling in the crystal-clear water offshore. To channel your inner movie star, hop on a catamaran to the nearby island of Skopelos, where the first Mamma Mia! movie was filmed.
