Cala Major holidays will have you livin' la vida loca, with a sweeping beach, hush-hush bars and upmarket restaurants on hand.

All that jazz

Cala Major's a bayside resort just 15-minutes' drive from Palma, the capital of Mallorca in eastern Spain's Balearic Islands. There are a few chilled-out spots to sip on a sundowner, but you'll need to head to La Lonja district – in the capital's old town – if you want to hit up beat-blasting bars and swinging jazz clubs.

Gold sand, crystal sea

The beach at Cala Major's spot-on for a day of sunbathing, lounging under a parasol or swimming in the clear sea. Think inviting waters and golden sand that's irresistibly soft. There's a café serving snacks and drinks as well, so you don't have to go far to refuel.

Foodie heaven

Cala Major's food scene is an international mix – from Spanish tapas to Chinese sweet-and-sour chicken. To cobble together your own pre-dinner snack, Portals Nous is a 15-minute drive west from capital city, Palma. Visit the Calle Major market on Monday mornings for olive oil, cheeses and cured ham.
