As well as being a nearby neighbour to the big-name city, Cascais is probably best known for its throng of beaches – 17 in fact. Plus, it sits on the edge of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, which is well worth a daytrip. This massive area’s home to mountains, palaces and castles.
