Best time to go to San Pedro de Macoris

Sunshine’s a given in La Romana. The mercury hits an average of 29˚C, and gets even higher in the May to October hot season, when you get the odd short-lived rain shower. The top time for hols here is between November and April, when there’s less humidity. You do get the odd hurricane between June and September, but don’t worry – the hotel staff know how to ride them out.

Passports and Visas

If you're a British passport holder, you can travel to the Dominican Republic for a holiday as long as your passport is valid for the duration of your stay. Before travelling, you'll need to fill in the Dominican Republic immigration and customs declaration form. Fill it out online at e-Ticket up to seven days before your arrival. You'll get a QR code which you must show at your departure airport before boarding, and you'll need to follow the same steps for your return journey, too.

For the most up-to-date passport and visa info, visit the Dominican Republic travel advice page.

Don't forget to arrange your travel money and insurance before you go.

Health and safety

You should take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover you while you’re away. For the latest health and safety information, visit the Dominican Republic travel advice health page.
