4 reasons to stay at Spring Hotel Bitacora

POV: You’re the kind of traveller that can’t sit still for too long… Spa days are a big green flag, but your week is by no means going to be spent completely horizontal – maybe a couple of days by the pool, then a waterpark adventure is a bit of you. You love being by the beach and some evening entertainment never goes amiss. Hello, Spring Hotel Bitacora

This four-star hotel in Playa de las Americas on Tenerife is your perfect pick. Whether we’ve just described you down to a T or you’ve got kids that can relate, here’s why your next stay should be at Spring Hotel Bitacora…

Location, location, location

Playa de las Americas is in the sunniest part of Tenerife, on the south-western tip – the perfect combo, closest to the equator and facing the right way for those sunset scenes. The Canary Islands are known for being a solid winter sun pick, and these parts rarely dip below 20°C. Head here in spring or autumn for a shoulder-season win to avoid the school holiday crowds or get the whole fam away in July or August to make the most of temps in the high 20s.

Spring Hotel Bitacora is about a half-an-hour drive from Tenerife Airport, so there’s not long to wait until you can check in and get settled. Then, you’ve got enough beaches to try a few different ones throughout your stay. Your closest sandy spot will be Playa de las Americas, which is less than a 10-minute walk away, with a surf school, loungers and a seaside walkway, backed with cafés and restaurants. Or, Playa del Camison only takes a minute or so longer to get to, but it has that tropical style with grassy parasols and places like La Palapa Beach Club. The shops, bars and restaurants here are all walkable and if you hire a car or don’t mind taking a taxi, Costa Adeje and the famous Siam Park waterpark are only just up the coast for a daytrip to somewhere different.

Serious pool scene

There are five pools to pick from here. To start with, there’s one with a waterslide and big shallow area – ideal if you’ve got kids with you. And there’s another one exclusively for kids. There’s a big family pool, one more and – for those hoping to avoid the splash zone – you’ll be glad to know there’s another just for adults, too (read on below to find out how to access it). They’ve all got loads of sunloungers and lawns, and palm trees are dotted about to bring a touch of greenery to the place. The pool by the outdoor spa area comes complete with a hydro-massage feature – you only have to pay a bit extra for indoor spa access, so everyone can appreciate this bit. But if you fancy treating yourself, then there are massages, a sauna, steam room and traditional Turkish bath on offer.

Adults-only areas

Psst, there’s a whole secret world just for adults you need to know about… Spring Hotel Bitacora has exclusive UP! packages, where you can access a rooftop zone and sundeck with an infinity pool, lounge area, Jacuzzi® and bar service, with snacks, selected premium drinks and personalised cocktails – say less. There are no kids allowed up here. It’s just you, those sea views and your drink of choice, ofc. If you’re staying for seven nights or more, you can also get a complimentary private spa circuit and seven-course tasting menu, which is held on Mondays.

To make sure you book an UP! package, just make sure you reselect your room on the Travel Options page as you’re checking out. As you confirm your luggage, transfer and seat options, you can also change your room allocation. You’ll want to pick the ‘select twin room with pool view and balcony or terrace’ and you should be able to see UP! access is included in the room description.

If you like to keep up with your fitness routine while you’re away or exercise is your ideal me-time, the gym is open to everyone but also has a minimum age of 16 – little ones have plenty of other activities just for them, so you can keep to yourself here, too.

Activities for days

For travellers that come with little ones, Springly World will be your saviour here to keep everyone busy and entertained. This isn’t your average playground, with climbing walls, king-size climbing frames and a mini-multi sports pitch. The space is made for children aged 4-12 years old, and they host small team games and competitions every day. They can give zip-lining a go, basketball, air hockey and adults are welcome as well – or not, a solo spa session sounds good, right?

The games room is open 24/7, too. You’ve got a pool table and games machines in here for everyone. Then, in the evenings, mini discos and the mini club keep the partying age appropriate for children up to 12, or The Box is a space for teenagers from 12-17 years old and comes with a pool table and arcade machines. Move nights are a nice chill activity, with a children’s film running daily at 9.15pm. And, from dance performances to live music, there’s always a show on.

Go ahead and book your room ASAP, or you can browse our best deals for some more holiday inspo.
