We’ve just got back from five amazing days in Kemer, in Turkey’s Antalya area. It’s the perfect destination for a mix of relaxing and exploring – we combined beach days and boat trips with old town sightseeing. Here are all the details about our trip to Turkey this summer, from where we stayed to what we got up to…
Day 1 – arriving in Antalya
We flew from Bristol to Antalya, arriving in the afternoon. The smooth journey was followed by a 50-minute transfer to DoubleTree by Hilton Antalya Kemer, our All Inclusive paradise on the Mediterranean Coast. We were met with welcome drinks and given a quick tour of the resort. It’s compact yet has everything we look for in our perfect hotel – a private beach with its own pier and cabanas, a spa, a pool, a rooftop bar… the list goes on.
We had dinner at the hotel’s main restaurant and sipped cocktails before watching the evening entertainment. It was a really relaxing evening and a great way to start the trip!

Day 2 – sun, sea and DJ sets
We started the morning with a delicious breakfast at the hotel – everything was fresh and full of flavour. Then, we treated ourselves to a private cabana and spent the day swimming at the beach, sipping iced lattes and enjoying snacks by the pool. After travelling the day before, a relaxed day to settle in was exactly what we needed.
In the evening, we dressed up for dinner at the hotel, followed by an unreal night at the rooftop bar, where there was a live DJ.
Day 3 – boat trip to Adrasan Sulu Island
After grabbing an early breakfast, we set off for an exciting Adrasan Sulu Island boat tour. The journey included multiple swim stops in the crystal-clear water, which gives it the nickname ‘the Maldives of Turkey’. The day on the spacious boat was dreamy and we even got a Turkish lunch served on board.
We returned to the hotel for dinner, where we tried different local dishes. Full and tired after our trip, we headed to bed early, dreaming of our day’s adventures.

Day 4 – exploring the old town + chasing waterfalls
We slept in for a bit, had a late breakfast and headed to the beach with iced coffees and a book. In the afternoon, we explored Kaleici – Antalya’s Old Town. We strolled through its narrow cobbled streets, including the colourful Rainbow Street, and wandered down to the charming marina and Mermerli Beach.
Later, we visited the stunning Lower Duden Waterfall, where the Duden River cascades over a cliff for 40 metres into the Mediterranean. It was incredible to see!
We returned to the hotel for dinner and cocktails, then enjoyed the live Elvis Presley tribute act and amazing dancers. We wrapped up the perfect day back at the rooftop bar, soaking up the sea views.
Day 5 – last day vibes
For our final day, we topped up the last bit of sunshine at the beach and by the pool. We also had time for a game of volleyball and tennis, before our afternoon transfer back to Antalya Airport. We flew back to Bristol, feeling super refreshed and relaxed after spending 5 days in the Turkish sun – AKA heaven.
