Hey! We’re Jose and Maria - AKA @shot.byjose and @roamingwithmaria. We’re travel content creators and photographers based in Bristol. We’ve been all over the world, capturing pics of everything, from natural landscapes and snowy ski resorts to buzzy cities. Our adventures are all about getting to know new destinations and bonding over new experiences.

We love switching it up between spontaneous and planned trips. Travelling last minute is such a thrill, but we also enjoy researching our destination and making sure we don’t miss any must-see spots. We’re big on cultural sites, natural beauty and history. Trying local food and learning about traditions is super important to us, too.

Hurghada, Egypt

When we arrived at Jaz Aquamarine, we were given a glass of juice at check-in, which was a lovely surprise and made us feel super special. The hotel looked lovely even at night, so we were very excited to see more in the daylight. Read Jose and Maria’s full itinerary.

This island isn’t included in every boat trip’s itinerary, so look out for the ones that do take you there. It’s a stunning sandbank you don’t want to miss, and the other more common stops still come with it, too.

Makai Tukai
This restaurant is one of Jaz Aquamarine’s à la carte options, but it’s also ranked as number four on Tripadvisor in the whole of Hurghada, so you should book even if you’re not a guest. The teppanyaki and chef’s cooking demo were very impressive.
