After a once-in-a-lifetime trip? Love those desert-island vibes? Clear waters, colourful marine life, and cocktails on the sand sound like a bit of you? Silly questions really… Who doesn’t want to go to the Maldives? Now, that’s something we’d like to know.
Kandima Maldives is all about the luxe life you picture when you think Maldives. Those villas lining the jetty that stretches out over the water. The plush daybeds where you can pull your mates for a chat. The lush palms and private pools. Read on if you need more convincing why this hotel has to be your next stay…

The facilities
These aren’t your average hotel rooms. You’ve got beachfront villas with their own Jacuzzi® or private pool. You can pick over-water villas with direct sea access, and even the double rooms have stunning sea views and a private balcony or terrace. There’s gorg Lily pad-style, sunken seating in the main pool so you can stay cool while sunbathing. Pink sofas and loungers line the edges, and a second pool sits next to it, too. This one’s the Beach Club, with double daybeds, a swim-up bar and a DJ deck. Jetties branch out into the sea with more seating, and kids also have a splash park.
Food wise, you better get ready… There’s tapas and oven-baked pizza at Azure, ribs and tomahawk steak at the grill, Asian plates at Sea Dragon, a big old selection at the buffet ft. a kids’ corner, as well as a deli and lakeside coffee house. Then you’ve got multiple bars – think swim-up and an adults-only spot. This place is so boujie, you can even request the chef and their team to set up a private meal for you. They do everything from dinner on a deserted island to a barbecue with friends and a picnic.

The vibes
As always, you pick the pace, and this hotel has it all. Outdoorsy types will love the snorkelling platform at the edge of the lagoon. You can also book sunset cruises, parasailing and diving trips at the watersports centre. On dry land, there are cooking and cocktail masterclasses, and the place even has its own art studio that runs lessons. You’ve got all the classic sports, too – beach volleyball, tennis and football. The Beach Club also has pool parties every Saturday. PSA: If you need to ditch the kids for happy hour, Kandiland is the largest kids’ club in the country, just saying…
For something more chill, head to the showstopping spa. Eskape Spa is nestled in the island’s tropical gardens with a plunge pool and steam room. They run classes at the fitness centre here, too, like pilates, CrossFit, TRX® Suspension Training, boxing and traditional and aerial yoga. After a day of wellness and relaxation, the evenings come with DJ sets and live bands at the Breeze pool bar.

You can go All Inclusive
AKA the ultimate treat-yourself pick. It’s not always as spenny as you think, either. At Kandima Maldives, going all in gets you breakfast, lunch, snacks at set times, dinner and drinks (local-brand alcohol, soft drinks, tea and coffee) included. Plus, once you arrive, there are sometimes additional extras you add on, too. To get all of that locked in for one price throughout your entire stay means you don’t need to stress about getting too tap-happy with your card – it’s already paid for!
You’ve also got a Full Board Plus option, which includes all your meals at the buffet. Plus, drinks like wine, beer, soft drinks, tea and coffee included with your meals. Or, Half Board Plus, which is all of the above, minus lunch. You also get a 20% discount on food if you pick to dine in an à la carte restaurant for dinner – just make sure you book ahead. Of course, you can also go for Bed and Breakfast if you want the most flexibility.

It’s the Maldives (duh…)
A huge part of the draw here has to be the location. It’s on its own island, which is also the largest island in Dhaalu Atoll, still at only three kilometres long. This means you get to travel in serious style to get here. We’re talking a 35-minute domestic flight followed by a 20-minute speedboat. It’s a good idea to think about your luggage before because the checked-in allowance for seaplanes is 22kg and 5kg for hand luggage, so you’ll need to make sure you don’t go over that for your international flight, too.
The scenery is everything you hoped the Maldives would be. The 4K-clear water, the lush palms and paper-white sands… dream holidays really do come true. The hotel’s house reef is full of schools of fish, diverse corals and other marine species you can snorkel with. Plus, with its own 360-degree coastline, you can pick between sunrise and sunset for the dreamiest views over the horizon.

It featured on MAFS UK
Look familiar? If your guilty pleasure is watching Married at First Sight (same), you might have already spotted this beauty on series 9 of MAFS UK, which aired in 2024. Kandima Maldives played the perfect backdrop to Alex and Holly’s honeymoon. If you missed it, you can go back and watch the couple kayaking, paddle-boarding and snorkelling around the resort IRL. It makes sense the hotel is a popular pick with celebs and influencers – the scenes here live to fill your Insta feed. They’ve even got their own Snap! photography studio, with a team of professional photographers who can offer personalised photography and videography services. No offence, but your best mate could never…
