Our Antigua family holidays tick off beachfront hotels, candy-coloured towns and rainforest adventures.

A Caribbean catch

Antigua pulls all your favourite Caribbean mainstays out the bag – like dove-coloured beaches, rainforest beauty spots, and stacks of places to try the local munch. For families, it’s got loads of outdoorsy stuff to get your teeth into. Think watersports at sea, jungle hikes for all abilities, and bustling towns that are heaving with history.

A colourful capital

Make a beeline for Antigua’s capital, St John’s. This city looks like it was inspired by a packet of Skittles – its brightly painted buildings come in all shades of the rainbow. It’s the biggest settlement on the island and has plenty in the sightseeing department. Take the kids to Fort James for a lesson in swashbuckling history. This seafront fort was built in the 18th century to protect the city from pirates and privateers.

Time for dinner

Whether you want to eat in your family-friendly hotel, or take a seat in one of Antigua’s many restaurants and cafés, the food on this island is more than memorable. Order a few plates of ducana – this savoury dish is a mixture of grated sweet potatoes and coconut, wrapped in a banana leaf. Or, if you’re after a refreshing snack, try some of Antigua’s black pineapple – it’s known as the sweetest pineapple in the world.

Family holidays to Antigua come complete with your flights, hotel and transfers in one handy bundle.
