Pick a holiday to Mojacar to experience the best of the Costa de Almeria, full of traditional charm, authentic cuisine and sweeping ocean views.

A modern classic

Southern Spain's Mojacar is one part countryside village and one part classic coastal resort. There's everything you'd expect and more, from tapas bars to good-looking beaches to modern bistros on the waterfront. It's also just an hour's drive to Almeria – an ancient city made famous by the Moorish fortress of Alcazaba.

In and around town

A 17-kilometre sandy beach stretches down the coastline here, and Mojacar's section features a pretty promenade lined with whitewashed villas and restaurants. In the town, you'll find the Casa de la Canana Museum – a well-preserved traditional home – as well as the charmingly frescoed Santa Maria Church.

Longstanding history

Mojacar has a rich Greek, Phoenician, Roman and Moorish history, and you can see evidence of it all across town. Think cobblestone paths, quaint sleepy squares and an imposing castle. There's a distinct easygoing atmosphere too, owing to the art galleries, down-to-earth shops and welcoming bars and restaurants.
