Best time to go to Goa

The best time to visit Goa is during the dry season that runs from October to May. There’re only really two seasons here – wet and dry. But the temperatures stay from the mid-20s into the early 30s all year round, so it’s a sure bet for some winter sun. The rain keeps the landscape luscious and green throughout June to September, which just means the air is quite humid around spring.

Passports and Visas

You must buy a visa before travelling to India. Eligible UK passport holders can apply for an e-Tourist Visa, you can apply through our visa and travel authorisation partner – Sherpa. If you’re not eligible, you’ll need to apply for a ‘Regular Paper’ visa online and need to make an appointment to visit an ‘Indian Mission/Office’ in the UK as part of the application process. These offices are located in Birmingham, Edinburgh and London.

Don't forget to arrange your travel money and insurance before you go.

Health and safety

You should take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover you while you’re away. It’s a good idea to visit your doctor a month or so before you travel for advice on vaccinations. For the latest health and safety information, visit www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/india/health
