Just Landed – January’s new arrivals

Happy New Year travel lovers! Christmas is over, your NYE hangover’s just about cleared and you’re setting your intentions for 2025 – which are all about more trips, ofc. Now’s the time to reset and enter your wellness era, and our new arrivals have just landed in time to make that happen. Everyone knows you’re the best version of yourself on holiday…

We’re starting the year strong with five fresh stays in places that keep you coming back. The category? Big boujie energy. You can always back a city break to swerve the post-festive scaries – we’re looking at you New York, Barcelona and Amsterdam. Or if it’s beach therapy you need, our pick in Rhodes is where you want to be.

Let’s get into it. Here are January’s new arrivals…

Moxy NYC Downtown, New York

Calling all digital nomads. If your resolution is to travel more, it means getting creative with your annual leave… Enter, Moxy NYC Downtown, AKA the perfect workation pick. Whether you settle in for your 9-5 or just need to log on for a few hours here and there, Recreation is a seriously cool co-working space here – we’re talking super comfy seating, speedy Wi-Fi and a coffee place to keep you topped up on caffeine and small plates. Once you’re done, it doubles up as a speakeasy-style cocktail bar with old-school arcade games. You can easily make the most of your free time, too – the Lower Manhattan location puts you on the corner of Tribeca, Chinatown and the Financial District, so you’ve got loads of bars, restaurants and cafés right there, as well as some of the city’s best sights.

Other features you’ll love include a mini basketball court and a sleek gym with fitness classes, and you’ll be obsessed when you see the mid-century modern décor. It’s all dark wood, moody lighting and framed vinyls, and the rooms meet the edgy brief with hanging chairs, carbon details and retro rotary dial telephones. Your Pinterest board isn’t ready…

Fouquet’s New York

Same city, totally different vibe. Fouquet’s New York is a dreamy retreat in the middle of Tribeca, bringing all the glam from its famous sister hotel in Paris to the Big Apple. Outside, the brick and glass building is all NYC, but inside, it’s pure Rococo realness – think the Palace of Versailles with its pretty pastels, feminine frills and plush furniture, and Marie Antoinette would’ve gone crazy for all the gold and crystal finishes.

Sure, Manhattan’s on your doorstep, but you’ve got everything you need right here. The five-star facilities include a beaut bistro in a leafy conservatory, a stunning pink marble bar and a classic French brasserie with velvet red chairs, wood panelling and beret-wearing waiters. Self-care is so on in the luxe spa – the indoor pool comes with jets, in-water loungers and comfy daybeds round the outside. There are treatment rooms for massages and facials, and a full-on fitness suite means you can keep up your new year, new you schedule. If you fancy a quiet evening in, there’s even a cinema room ready for a cosy film night.

Casa Cabana Hotel & Suites, Rhodes

Faliraki’s Blue Flag beach is the only kind of blues we’re interested in this Jan, and Casa Cabana Hotel & Suites puts you a two-minute stroll from the sand. As well as sun worshippers, this part of Rhodes pulls in the party lovers – you’re only a short walk from the famous bar and club streets – but this adults-only pick is also perfect if you’re looking for some peace – no kids allowed here…

This stay’s basically brand new, and its boutique size makes it feel more like an exclusive villa than a hotel. Everything’s got that beachy-boho look, from the bleached wood and bamboo furniture to the classic Greek white-washed walls. The terrace is lined with palms and olive trees, then an outdoor pool curves around the bar and seating area. Grab a lounger to top up your tan, or there are shady daybeds hanging over the water, so you can dip your feet in while you read or sip a cocktail. If you fancy going all-out, level up to a room with your own pool and sun deck.

If you want to send it full zen mode, the spa is yours. Dip between the sauna, steam room and Turkish bath, and it would be rude not to book yourself in for a massage or a facial. The food here will have you feeling fresh, too – start your mornings with an al fresco breakfast from the buffet, then the restaurant stays open for local specialities at lunch and dinnertime. Otherwise, it’s out into the resort to try the local tavernas, or you could even hire bikes to explore more of the island.

Barcelo Raval, Barcelona

Think you’ve seen Barcelona? Think again. Barcelo Raval’s 360° rooftop serves unbelievable scenes across the city and as far as the mountains – now’s the time to upgrade your camera roll storage, btw. There’s a bar up here and seating wraps the whole way around, so that’s your evenings sorted, and during the day you can soak up the views from the pool.

The rest of the hotel is pretty extra, too. The colour scheme loves a hot pink, neon green and bold purple, and you’ll see some major statement walls around, like in the glitzy lounge which turns into a club later on. Dance to DJ sets until the AM, then just head upstairs to your room… the dream. There’s a solid list of other facilities including a restaurant, café and gym, plus a spa with a hot tub and a sauna. It’s super unusual to get all these extras close to the city centre, but you better believe it because you’ll be steps away from the Gothic Quarter and buzzy Las Ramblas.

De L’Europe Amsterdam – The Leading Hotels of the World

Your 2025 mantra is that you deserve the best… and that’s De L’Europe Amsterdam. This iconic hotel has been sitting pretty next to the River Amstel since the late 1800s, and it’s just as grand today. The outside looks like a château and the interior still has that Art Nouveau aesthetic – mega chandeliers, luxurious fabrics and priceless paintings fill all the rooms, but it’s been given a modern refresh with state-of-the-art facilities like a huge spa, indoor pool and gym.

It’s also home to some of the finest foodie spots in the city. Restaurant Flore’s gourmet menu earned two Michelin Stars, Trattoria Graziella is all about authentic Italian food and Brasserie Marie serves chic French food on the waterfront terrace. Chapter 1896 is the place to go for sophisticated cocktails, or there’s Freddy’s Bar – a laidback Dutch pub. Everything about this pick is premium, even its location, which puts you a five minutes’ stroll from Dam Square.
