Excellent for the business traveler. For my money, if you are working late in the area -- the breakfast and the Japanese restaurant at night (in the same space) -- do a better job in hotel than most budget business traveler hotels. Lovely quiet hotel, really well located a short walk (with a wheelie suitcase) from Amsterdam Zuid station. The station is only a quick, inexpensive, one stop train ride from Schipol (dont be tempted by an Uber or Bolt!). It is in the heart of the business district but well located for a trip into the centre and close to VU (university). All staff really welcoming but special thanks to Tomas and Sabrina in the break...

Bad hospitality

Dropped two business relations of at the hotel at 15h50 after a 2 hours drive finishing in a severe snow shower. It was very quiet at the hotel. Wanted to order a quick coffee and head home in rapidly deteriorating weather conditions. The bar was already manned and ready for service but the lady refused me a swift coffee because 'she would not open until four o'clock.'
Hospitality and service seem to be complicated...

There is always a sweet spot between value and service. The Crowne Plaza Amsterdam South hits that spot. Im a regular at IHG so the upgrade was very welcome. The welcome was warm and the service staff with whom we dealt, were excellent, particularly the gentleman on duty on the ninth floor on Saturday November 29/30!
The hotel is a short walk from Amsterdam Zuid Station and the Central Station short 12 minutes away....

Lovely hotel and helpful staff. Room clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast offered a diverse selection and servers pleasant. Two restaurants and bars on premises. Well located close to the train/metro. A great experience!...
