Poorly managed hotel with undisclosed charges and unacceptable staff conduct.

I booked this hotel via EasyJet Holidays and paid £853 for a prepaid single room.
At no point during the booking process was I informed that the hotel would require a 70 per night security deposit in addition to the tourist tax. The only additional charge disclosed was the tourist tax. The hotel did not contact me after booking to advise of this requirement.

The hotel is located on a quiet part of the Singel canal. The interior is beautifully decorated and includes a number of comfortable seating areas near the lobby. We ate in the bar on our first night. The bar food was good and they had an extensive choice of drinks. The bar staff were very helpful as were all of the staff that we encountered. This hotel is a scam!
They never warn guests about the security deposit they charge 70 per day, promise to return it within 35 days, and never return anything. This is pure fraud. For Europe, this level of service is absolutely unacceptable there is nothing worse than treating customers like this.
The staff is unprofessional, rude, and completely careless.
I would never recommend this place to anyone.!!!

Beautiful privately owned hotel in the middle of Amsterdam overlooking a canal. Close to shops, bars and restaurants. Excellent staff and clean and tidy rooms and facilities....
