1/5 Worst Hotel Experience of My Life

This was, without exaggeration, the worst nights sleep I have had in my 32 years.
Upon arrival, we asked for an upgrade and were offered one by an employee who appeared to have no real understanding of the rooms in the hotel. We paid an extra 20 for this so-called upgrade, which turned out to be an absolute nightmare.
The room was located directly next to what seemed to be a loading/unloading area or staff common...

The nicest hotel ever. We got upgraded to a nicer room for free, beautiful hotel in a massive park, beautiful walks and wildlife. Staff were all really helpful and friendly. Just a 25 minute walk to the centre. Me and my partner will 100% be coming back to stay here again....

Dont stay in room 001!

The hotel is pleasant enough, and is set on the edge of a park.
My issue was that a large part of the hotel is dedicated to private functions and there was a very loud party taking place on a Thursday night until 1am right next to my room. Room 001.
When I complained at reception I was told that my room couldnt get any closer to the private function and that they can understand that it would have been noisy.

Arena Hotel Amsterdam 4*
I wish to preface my review by stating that we were a senior couple that had been travelling for 6 weeks in Europe with and we each had 1 x roll away bag of 23kg and 1 x large backpack each. We had booked this hotel on the recommendation of Family friends who live in Amsterdam.

Cannot fault this hotel at all, we had an amazing stay.
Me and a friend stayed here for four nights and prior to arrival we emailed requesting for a twin room & the top floor to which both requests were fulfilled.
The room was extremely spacious & the bathroom was gorgeous. The beds were sooo comfy!
Worth noting that we had to pay a 200 deposit for a four night stay which we wasnt aware of but this did not eff...
